About Dr. Sheena Phan
Dr. Sheena Phan was born in a quiet suburb in Southern California. She took on leadership roles in student-run medical and dental clinics for underprivileged individuals, which shaped her career in healthcare. Dr. Phan earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where she was inducted into the Tau Kappa Omega Honor Society and recognized for her commitment to volunteerism locally, nationally, and internationally.
Dr. Phan has lent her expertise to several practices within the Bay Area before settling in San Mateo. She excels in providing patient-centered and compassionate care, with a focus on patient education. She has served on committees within the California Dental Association to address oral health care issues, and her experiences delivering dental services across cultural and financial barriers have allowed her to individualize care for each of her patients.

yes, I would go back to see same dentist again. she explained every step what she was going to do and why. she is a gentle person. there was no waiting for her , I think she waited for me to be ready. I needed to go to the bathroom first.

Visiting this office was a great experience. The receptionist was kind and communicated everything to me clearly and concisely.
The dental assistant (?) Danielle was also friendly and she knew exactly what she was doing. In addition, the office itself was very clean and modern - they took bitewing x-rays directly in my room.
My dentist was a very good listener, and she addressed each of my concerns in a logical and caring manner. I suppose it also helps that we're both from SoCal, too!
All in all, it was an excellent experience; while I by no means love going to the dentist, I certainly feel comfortable being in the care of such professional and personable staff.

The prices seem exorbitant compared to my previous dentist who retired and passed his practice on to Dr Sheen. The office is certainly high class and everyone is friendly and professional but my reluctance in referring to any friends would be what seems to me super high costs.

Dr. Phan makes going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. Scheduling an appointment was easy with ZocDoc and they confirm the appointment two times as the date approaches so that you don't forget and have a chance to reschedule if needed. Once you arrive, you are welcomed by a super friendly, knowledgeable staff at the front desk. The dental technicians are also friendly and efficient to do your check up and prepare you for the main appointment. Dr. Phan is amazing - very friendly, professional and takes time to check on you as a person before beginning the work. She did an amazing job with my cleaning - efficient, thorough and as painless as cleanings can be. Overall, I had a great experience with Dr. Phan and her team and I highly recommend them to everyone.

In addition to the good cleaning, I received some good information on a probable cause of some very mild tooth sensitivity that the Dr. had picked up in reviewing my previous x-rays. One of the best experiences at a dentist! Dr. Sheena Phan gave me some recommendations on how to get my teeth even cleaner, which I never would have thought of doing myself. Sh was very gentle and kept asking if I was comfortable or had any discomfort. It had been almost 2 years since my last dental visit, so my teeth and gums were very sore. Left with a smile and a goodie bag full of samples tailored to my teeth and gums. Can't wait to go back for my 6 month check up.
