“I took my mother for emergency dental work at Dr. Rai's office yesterday and both
my mom and I are so grateful to him for his time and efficient treatment! A patient
feels 50% better already just talking to a very calm, gentle, & attentive Dr. Rai and
the other 50% magic happens with his experience, skills, and mastery of his
profession! All his staff is extremely caring and professional as well! Kudos to the
entire office!!! A biG THANK you! ”

About Dr. Shivaprasanna Rai
Dr. Shivaprasanna Rai earned his BDS from GDCRI Bangalore, India, in 1984 and then earned his Master’s Degree in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (MDS) in 1988 from Kasturba Medical College (KMC) in Manipal, India. Dr. Rai served as an assistant professor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry at the College of Dentistry at KMC in Mangalore in 1989. He then graduated with his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery degree) from Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia, in 1994. From 1994-1997, he was honored to work as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at VCU, in Richmond.
While Dr. Rai has been practicing dentistry for over 39 years, he continues his education to expand his knowledge in different areas and stays updated with the newest technology and trends in the dental field. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Northern Virginia Dental Society. He is an alumnus of the Dawson Academy Alumni Association.
Dr. Rai’s greatest goal is to provide quality, comprehensive dentistry to all of his patients and their families in order to improve their health and self-esteem.
Dr. Rai is married and has one daughter. In his free time, he loves to travel.

I had a very exceptional experience from the receptionist through the hygienist and
Dr Rai himself. To me its by far the best experience I have had as far as dental
hygiene is concerned. I was very surprised to have a follow-up call from Dr Rai to
see how I was doing after my deep cleaning. This shows the extent to which Dr Rai
and the entire team care about their clients. I call it superior service, and no dentist
even come close.

I have been going to Dr. Rai for 17 years now! Love him! Love Elizabeth! Love the
entire staffl They are Always so welcoming, professional, and genuinely care about
your dental health. Office has always been sparking clean and now especially
during Covid they are taken all the necessary steps to ensure all patients remain
safe and healthy. Highly Recommend!

experience since I always get nervous with dentist visits.

The Staff is very knowledgeable and made great effort to minimize any pain and
discomfort Dr. Rai and his staff are amazing and proved that they can make even
the most terrified patient feel at ease. They have a calming nature and help patients
relax. Oh, by the way he did a fantastic job on my crowns. He is a perfectionist!

Dr Rai is amazing. He explains what hes doing, is also comforting and a calming
presence as a dentist. I feel so comfortable and so happy Im a patient here! When I
first started coming here I was so scared of going to the dentist, but my fear has
(slightly) subsided since being a patient here!

Dr Rai is a great dentist,he takes the time to explain what needs to be done. I have
been going to Dr Rai for a long time with no issues, and he is the only dentist I will
go. All his staff is professional. When you have a emergency he will find a way to fix
you in.

This is the experience with Dr. Rai and his outstanding dental team. I started with
Dr. Rai for a dental emergency and knew that I would switch to his office for dental
care. His personable and professional engagement, compassionate care in dental
treatment and sharing of information on recommended treatment plans is stellar.

My family and I started seeing Dr. Rai over 7 years ago. We were new to the area
and our previous dentist had been like part of our family. We were wary but from the
first interaction with the receptionist the team was great! We were greeted with
happy smiles, the hygienists were pleasant and our care has been superb! Dr. Rai
and his team are now like part of our family! We Love Elizabeth!

Dr Rai, the hygienist Elizabeth, and the entire staff, including the receptionist and
insurance billing coordinator, were friendly and made me feel confident that this is
the right office for me. I will be moving a little further north from Stafford but will
continue to visit Rai Family Dentistry.

If I could give more stars to Rai Family Dentistry I would! My husband and I both
had our first experience there this week. I was astounded with the amount of time
both Dr. Rai and his dental assistant dedicated to myself and Dr. Rai and his
hygienist dedicated to my husband. I have never had such a comprehensive dental
exam, which Dr. Rai narrated as he performed.

I cannot thank the Rai Family practice enough for fitting me in yesterday for an
emergency filling. They put me at ease and made my stressful day so much better.
They were very accommodating, pleasant and professional. III recommend them to
anyone who needs a referral in the Stafford area. Thanks again!

I did not die! I was very afraid of the dentist but thy made it not so sccary. The docoter talked through eveything and aleaveated all stressers. I will be letting all my friends know how well it all went. Thank you 100 times over for making this do this a not so scary experenens.

Dr. Rai and all the staff are amazing. I cannot speak highly enough. Elizabeth has been my dental hygenist for over 20 yrs. Dr. Paulina is also amazing. They have taken away the high anxiety I had previously had about dentists.
