Dr. Shakya completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery(DDS) from Colorado University School of Dental Medicine and was honored with Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU). She had been inducted as a member into the Phi Rho chapter of the OKU National Dental Honor Society for demonstrating excellent Academic Performance, Character, Ethic and Professionalism. Since then, she has been serving East bay area. She began working in private practice in 2003. She provides all aspect of adult and pediatric general dentistry including preventive dentistry, caries treatment, oral cancers screening, Invisalign and emergency dentistry. In addition, she specializes in Cosmetic dentistry including dental implant restoration, Bonding, Porcelain veneer, Crowns and Enameloplasty. Due to her extensive training in Oral medicine and Radiology, specializing in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Oral cancer and other oral lesions and TMJ, her approach to dentistry is more than just treating the teeth, she believes it involves understanding of an individual’s overall health, as our oral health is the reflection of the systemic health and vice versa.
