About Dr. Sophia Mikhail

Dr. Sophia Mikhail received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in 2021. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, and a Spear Education Member. Her favorite part about being a dentist is that she gets the opportunity to work with her patients to achieve their oral health and address all of their concerns to be able to get them happier and healthier. Dr. Mikhail was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and is happy to be back in the sunshine state after school. She finds joy in volunteering in her community, and is an active participant in Team Smile, Special Olympics, and Give Kids a Smile.

I didn’t actually see the dentist, but my experience with the office staff could have been better. I booked appointments for my husband and myself through Zocdoc and completed all the new patient forms there. Upon arrival I was advised that I had left most of the forms blank however, the digital system doesn’t allow you to move forward without completing every section. A better approach would have been to acknowledge a system issue and ask me to fill out the forms again. I’m pregnant and in my second trimester. None of the staff seemed confident about what services could be provided, or whether a release was needed. I would have felt more comfortable if the staff had appeared more confident. I explained that I had done X-rays at my last cleaning and would prefer to wait until after my pregnancy before doing another set. I was told it was a personal choice. No one advised me of any specific or extra precautions that would be taken. I was refused a cleaning unless I agreed to X-rays.
