THE PROFESSIONAL SIDE
Dr. Tigani received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1992. He then practiced for one year as a general dentist alongside his father, brother, sister, and brother-in-law before beginning orthodontic residency. Dr. Tigani completed a two-year orthodontic residency program at Columbia University in 1995. He has maintained a private practice in the Washington area for 25 years.
Dr. Tigani is a past President of the District of Columbia Dental Society, a component of the American Dental Association that advocates for the community and dentistry as a whole. Dr. Tigani is the past Chairman for the D.C. Dental Society’s “Give Kids a Smile Program,” an annual event providing oral health care to low-income families in the Washington, DC area. He currently represents the District of Columbia Dental Society as a delegate to the American Dental Association and also serves on the ADA Council on Membership. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists, and a fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
THE PERSONAL SIDE
Hello, I’m Stephen Tigani. I have lived in Bethesda, MD for my entire life. Being a lifelong member of the Washington community I have been involved in everything you can imagine. I coached soccer and basketball for 20 years, I have attended Church of The Little Flower since I was a kid, and I served on a number of boards and councils.
I have been married to my beautiful bride for 27 years and we have four children whom we are incredibly proud of. My oldest daughter is Dr. Elise Tigani is also part of the practice and I am very excited to work alongside her. The other three children are all doing great things of their own as well.
