About Dr. Stuart Hersey

Dr. Hersey grew up in South Hill, Puyallup, and is a proud alumnus of Rogers High School. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1994. Following this, he completed a General Practice Residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1995, and in 1997, he returned to the University of Washington to complete a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Hersey is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Pierce County Dental Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Washington State Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He currently serves on the board of the Pierce County Dental Society and is the immediate past president of the organization. Dr. Hersey’s interests center around his family. He and his wife, Dayna, enjoy time with their sons, Zachary and Ryan. Zachary, along with his wife Lena and their young son Hudson, has made Dr. Hersey a proud grandfather—a joy he describes as “awesome!” Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hersey is passionate about building remote-controlled vehicles, including airplanes, boats, cars, rock racers, and drones. He’s also a gardening enthusiast and enjoys experimenting with 3D printing and various DIY projects. One of his long-term projects is to develop an autonomous electric lawn mower capable of handling the yard work—an innovation he can’t wait to bring to life.
