Dr. Sylvia Kim was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and raised both in the States and Seoul, South Korea. She attended the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She is passionate about maintaining the oral health of all her patients and is committed to providing comfortable, quality dental care. Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. She recently took up golf as a new hobby-feel free to ask her how it's going!

Fresh Dental is great and I truly enjoyed my visit with Dr. Kim! She is very good at explaining what she's doing and why and keeping the patient comfortable. I even needed to get a cavity filled and I would say it was probably the easiest I've ever had in my life. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a dentist!

Like any human with nerve endings in their mouth, I dread going to the dentist. I hadn't been for a while so I was extra nervous, because dentists, as a rule, are the judgiest medical professionals. But Dr Kim was so nice: she made the effort to be really welcoming and friendly, and to go over the X-rays and photos in a clear and non-judgmental way. And she didn't automatically make me get a deep cleaning, which other dentists seem to jump to with sadistic enthusiasm. My teeth feel clean and I'm not even nervous to go back. I'm getting my husband to switch from his mean dentist. I really recommend Dr Kim and this surgery.

I appreciated how well Dr. Kim explained everything to me and walked me through what she was doing during the exam, my X-ray photos, explained what she was seeing on the scans, what she recommends for oral hygiene tips/tricks. Very transparent and helped me understand better and addressed all my concerns and questions.

Dr. Kim was wonderful! Patient listener and explained everything she was doing as she went along. Very gentle with the actual cleaning and my teeth feel awesome! Staff was also great. They were very friendly and organized, gave me a needed referral, plus the cost estimate for my next appointment with my insurance. Overall the patience of everyone I interacted with was very appreciated. Cute and clean office and pleasant experience! Thank you to all.

I went in for a routine check up and cleaning. Was seen right away. Dr. Kim took time to go over my xrays and photos and explain things to me. My biggest pet peeve about some dental offices is that they bring you back and then you sit there for a long time waiting for the actual treatment. That didn't happen here, I was in and out in very sufficient time.

My first visit to Fresh Dental. My old provider stopped taking my insurance. I was seen by Dr Nam. Staff was excellent from front desk, to hygienist, to doctor. Very clean and very kind/professional team. Dr Nam projected on screen images of my x-rays and pictures of my mouth to aid the exam. I found him to be thorough and detailed in the discussion, he asked questions and listened. The exam itself was conducted thoroughly and he is very gentle with great bedside manner. I felt he was particularly detailed in the plague removal, which I appreciated very much. My hygienist was also excellent and very gentle and competent. I was recommended fluoride treatment for an extra cost, which I did and did not enjoy at all, but I did not take that experience as a negative reflection on the dentist. It just is really gross and forms a disgusting film on your teeth, which I was not expecting.

I would recommend Dr. Kim for your dental needs because she is very professional and caring. I booked an appointment for deep cleaning. Since I never had a deep cleaning done before Dr. Kim was very kind and patient in explaining the process. During the entire process Dr. Kim talked me through what was being done, this was very helpful and kept me calm. The whole process was comfortable. I am very happy with the service provided.
