About Dr. Thien Vu
Dr. Vu is a general dentist serving the South Bay communities by practicing in two locations and consulting for others. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, and completed her General Practice Residency at the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, Fresno Valley Medical Center in Fresno, CA. She is the subject matter expert (SME) for the California Dental Board Peer Review Committee. Dr. Vu received her Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), the highest honor bestowed to general dentists. She serves as the editor for multiple research papers and private dental programs.
Dr. Vu is the immediate past president of the Northern California Academy of General Dentistry and mentors students from both the University of the Pacific and UCSF. She sits on multiple boards and actively teaches and volunteers with the United Way Foundation. She has trained with various dental and medical organizations in adult sedation and hypnosis and completed a mini-residency in pediatric conscious sedation at the University of Florida, Gainesville, to work with young special needs populations. She became the first dental director for the Citrus County Public Health Department in Inverness, FL.
Under her leadership as a first-time public health dentist, the clinic received the prestigious American Academy of Pediatrics Healthy Kids Tomorrow grant of $250,000. With this funding, she added a surgical unit to better serve vulnerable patients. Her clinic became a nationwide model for others to follow. She continues to consult for low-income clinics to help them thrive in rural areas.
Throughout her career, Dr. Vu has received numerous awards and recognitions for her dedication to community service and volunteer work. She is multilingual, with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and Vietnamese.

I am so happy to have found her. Dr. Vu and her staff were extremely accommodating and made me feel right at home. I am not someone who enjoys the dentist , but I do now. Looking forward to being under her care moving forward.

I was attended by Dr. Mark, and he is by far one of the best dentists I have seen. His beside manners are what made the experience exceptional. He was also very transparent and gentle. I have recommended his office to others. Growing up, I was not fond of the dentist, and was worried it would be a bad experience, but Dr. Mark made me look forward to my next visit.

Dr. Vu is very friendly and makes you feel super comfortable. She explains things clearly for you whether good or bad, but does not make you feel self conscious. She has a great sense of humor. Her hygienist, Bobbi/y(sp?) is equally friendly and also a great sense of humor. The staff communicated with me via email and the response was in a super reasonable time. Definitely made it a great experience since I haven't had a change in dentist in over a decade.

I was a little annoyed because I had an expense over the budget I was considering. In the sent covarage conditions, the transactions were expressed with codes, so it was not fully understandable. Also, my insurance covered only 50% of the transaction. Dr. Vu and the staff were friendly.
