About Dr. Thomas Sokoly
Thomas D. Sokoly, DDS, is a talented and friendly dentist who has been improving the smiles of patients in the Washington metropolitan area since 1995. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland and currently treats patients at Sokoly Dental located in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Sokoly has trained with some of the world's most distinguished cosmetic and restorative dentists. He spent nearly 10 years working directly with his father, Laszlo Sokoly, DDS, a beloved dentist who earned a strong reputation for his excellent cosmetic and restorative skills during the 40-plus years he practiced in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Sokoly has been recognized by several prominent organizations for his empathetic patient care and skilled dental abilities. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, a fellow of the American College of Dentists, and served as the general chairman of the 2014 Nation's Capital Mid-Atlantic Dental Meeting.
He is also known for being a leader in his field. Dr. Sokoly was the president of the DC Dental Society in 2016 and currently sits on its board of directors. He also serves on the board of directors of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Dr. Sokoly is incredibly active in his profession, enjoying memberships in the Maimonides Dental Society, the Millennium Dental Study Club, and the Dental Science Study Club.
Dr. Sokoly always strives to deliver personalized care and ample attention to all his patients. He believes in a collaborative approach to dentistry, educating his patients on their conditions and developing treatment plans that make everybody happy.

Everyone is very nice and the office is clean and organized! They were flexible with me arriving late and managed to complete the services. Maybe I am spoiled by my last dentist, but it felt very impersonal. A large section of plaque was not removed even though I pointed it out during the cleaning. Multiple fillings we suggested even though I explained I have other health issues causing the problem and do not want to fill for the fifth time until the root cause is resolved. It’s fine if you’re just doing routine stuff. They’re very accommodating and professional. If you have special considerations, I would not recommend based on my experience.

What an amazing first appointment with Dr. Sokoly and his team! Every part of the process was so easy from start to finish. Melissa explained pretty much every part of what she was doing during the cleaning and was upfront and transparent about additional non-insurance-covered costs. Dr. Sokoly has great manner with his patients and was not pushy on any sort of sales or up charges, as other Dentists I have been to have done. I will definitely continue to see Dr. Sokoly and highly recommend his practice!

Hygienist was pleasant to talk to and answered all my questions. Sokoly was upbeat and recommended a good solution for my translucent enamel concerns (sensodyne advanced). First time gift was nice too!

I recently had a teeth cleaning and check-up with Dr. Sokoly and it was a fantastic experience. Dr. Sokoly is very skilled and knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process. Melissa, Dential hygienist, went beyond the all of duty in removing stains from a very hard to reach area due to a permanent retainer. She has the patience of Job. Thanks team.

Office manager Renée hands down is on top of everything. Dr Sokoly’s assistant Bonnie is very knowledgeable, the hygienist, Melissa was very kind and gentle(no crying in the office for sure ??)
And Dr Sokoly himself was soooo kind and such a great listener.
Highly recommended!
