About Dr. Tu-Quynh Erickson
Dr. Erickson has lived in the DMV area since 1987. She attended W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She received her D.D.S. from Columbia University in New York in 2001. Dr. Erickson worked as a general dentist for five years before returning to school to pursue her certificate of Endodontics at New York University. The doctor I was seen was not the doctor that I booked the appointment. The costs were explained when I was in dental bed and when I felt pressure to accept their terms while I was in dental pain.

I don’t know whether to blame Zocdoc or the office. Or myself for needing an urgent root canal. I called to confirm the appt the morning of and specified on the online appt - and over the phone - I need to see an Endo for an urgent root canal and they are the closest specialist in network but it’s an 1 and 40 min drive. I arrive to the appt & the endodontist was not in. No one thought to reschedule my appointment via email or during my call confirmation. I was not even told the specialist wasn’t in until after they took X-rays. Absolutely a waste of time. Also, based on the estimate they gave me, they double prices just because they’re in network? I can get a root canal & pay out of pocket for the exact cost they bill after insurance. They have a cancellation fee policy for patients, I wonder how the situation applies in reverse. I feel like I communicated what I needed within the online appt & phone call; they had many opportunities to say the Endo was not in and didn’t.

I scheduled the appointment online; however, I was called the morning of the appt and told that the provider wouldn't be in the particular office that I needed until the next day. I had to cancel and go with a different provider.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Erickson and the excellent care she provided during my root canal treatment. As someone who has had dental anxiety for years, Dr. Erickson immediately put me at ease.
