Dr. Gerts is the most professional dentist that I have ever been seen by. He performed a root canal on me and took care of all of my cavities and cleanings. He explains everything in depth to his patients until he is sure that they understand, and he does such an amazing job that there is hardly any pain afterwards. I came in with some specific concern (bonding on a retainer wearing out and a cavity) and the dentist never dealt with them. Instead they kept pushing deep cleaning saying that the dentist would also address my issues but every time (3 appointments) he was busy or there wasn't time. This dentist seems like he is just out to bill insurance companies without doing the work. The hygienist was very good. read more

Dr. Gerts' office is near my apartment. It's nice to have a doctor so close by. His office is up-to-date and all his employees were very friendly and helpful. I had to wait 40 minutes to see him and I arrived 5 minutes early to my appointment. The wait was disappointing but his proximity to my home will keep me coming back.read more

Dr. Gerts was friendly and tried to answer all my questions, but I didn't really have a good experience at this practice. The dental cleaning was super superficial, painful and his assistant seemed to not really know how to use the suction device. I felt very uncomfortable during the procedure and won't go back there.read more

I hate going to the dentist, period. With that in mind, Dr. Gerts is an pretty friendly and polite guy. He is easy going and he performed my root canal, albeit this was my first one so I don't have any prior experience, pretty well. The only thing I hated was when he was doing the procedure I could tell by the scalpel he picked up that he was cutting into something, I just didn't know what. At the end he told me he had to cut into my gums to make room for the crown. It sucked knowing it was happening and not getting told why it was happening when it happened. I hate that. But I understand why he didn't say anything immediately since the whole thing was uncomfortable already, he probably didn't want to freak me out more. Overall, the whole procedure was pretty affordable, his staff is always nice and professional. I just hate dentists, but Dr. Gerts is a decent one. read more

It felt really short for a standard cleaning (less than 10 minutes). The consultation took just as long as the cleaning, which seemed to only include a power floss and polishing. No explicit check for cavities (outside of the x-rays) or mention of plaque.read more

The appointment was made with a quick turnaround. They had called promptly to ask if I could come in earlier because the dentist had personal business, and so I did. I came in earlier then the rescheduled appointment and was seen right away. While I was in the chair the dentist had great bedside manner - he was patient and encouraging. Unfortunately DentaQuest (Fidelis) does not cover root canals and I had to reschedule to a date when I would be switched over to my employer's insurance.read more

I've never had a dentist appointment for cleaning that was so painful! The cleaning was sloppy with the tools and suctions as well as getting water and paste splashed all over my face. He was friendly and informative but I didn't understand why I answered all of these questions in the paperwork only to be asked all of them again in the room. The secretary was generally nice except complaining about her difficulty getting a hold of my insurance in which she left an inappropriate voicemail. It could have been worse but not worth going back. read more

He did give me some good information about another service that I could benefit from, though. His receptionist is super friendly, warm and kind.
