“I loved Dr. Jang. I hadn't gone to a dentist in about 2 years, and was just nervous to face the reality of whatever was going on in my mouth since then. She listened to all of my concerns and addressed all of them, and honestly made me feel a lot better about everything and I'm no longer worried because she set everything up to get my teeth in shape. She also just was super nice, gentle, and easy to get along with. I loved her staff as well, and generally just felt like they paid a lot of attention to my mouth during my appointment and did not rush the process. I don't know if I have ever received such a thorough cleaning and felt so clear about what my next steps are. Highly recommend this doctor and her staff.”

It was very disappointing that the dentist diagnosed me without doing the exam. They have outdated x-ray equipment that hurts when they take x-rays. The staff is very nice and professional but the dentist was just awful.

Sketchy... There were a lot of red flags. Key ones include: (1) The dentist promptly declared I had a cavity that needed drilling in a few days (a second-opinion visit with another dentist back home whom I trust indicated that was not the case - a cavity was unlikely); (2) the office, hygienist, and dentist kept asking me who I was and why I was there (they seemed perplexed that someone would do a 6-month cleaning and check-up without having dental pain); (3) both the dental exam and the cleaning were incomplete; and (4) the hygienist complained about how annoying it is to have to keep up-to-date with modern techniques. All in all, I'm not coming back and would recommend people avoid this dental practice.

The staff was extremely friendly during my visit. It was the end of the day, and everyone was all smiles. The doctor was extremely helpful in making sure I understood my current dental health and the next steps I should take. Overall, a really great experience.

All the staff are AMAZING and SO kind. I have never before been to a dentist who I felt actually listened to my concerns and cared about me as a person outside of the office. The entire staff was so accommodating and such a delight even when I was stressed about my appointment. I would HIGHLY recommend this office! Will definitely return.

Great experience at Newton Dentistry. The staff and friendly and helpful. The equipment is new (TV's for you to watch while you're getting work done!). And a seamless payment experience. I definitely recommend

I absolutely love everything about this office! Dr. Jang and all the staff are all great! The office is clean, everyone is friendly, they follow-up with you to remind you of your appointments and the staff really gets to know you. I would recommend this office to anyone.

Started coming here because of the awesome reviews and I have not been disappointed. It took me a long time to go back to the dentist after a traumatic visit elsewhere and Dr. Jang was very kind, understanding, and gentle. Fast too and I love that all the tech seems to be up to date. They've since moved to a bigger office and have more staff to help out. Every staff member has always been engaging and fantastic. The facility is clean, professional, modern, and hip! I broke a tooth once, and Josh wasn't available to see me, but I was still able to be seen by another dentist there and they did a great job of fixing me up. Yesterday, I went in for a deep cleaning and while it's definitely not a fun procedure, the dentist working with me was really great. She made the experience fun for me, we had some laughs, she gave me some great tips for after care. When I was still feeling pain after starting, she went ahead and gave me another shot to help numb and explained everything she was doing. My mouth feels just fine today and I'll be back for the other side soon! It can be a little challenging to get scheduled so plan in advance.

It was my first time meeting Dr. Jang today and I couldn't wait to get home and write a review about her. I hated dentists and had bad experiences with them. You know that icky feelings you have when you enter a dentist office and sit on a dentist chair waiting for that dreading treatment and the dentist to tell you that your teeth need tons and tons of treatment?! NO, NOT this time!!
Also, you know what?! For the FIRST time in my dental experience, my dentist was on time in getting me into with my scheduled appointment!! I was impressed!!.
Anyway, Dr. Jang is very nice to me. She made feel comfortable while cleaning my teeth herself while other dentists I have been to never did that. Dr. Jang is gentle, friendly, and down to earth. She is knowledgeable and appeared to know her stuff. Her staff is also nice. I felt like I have been going to her forever although it was my first time. I couldn't stop talking about her and my dental experience with her.
I have scheduled 2 other appointments with Dr. Jang for another treatment, and I cannot wait for my teeth to get cleaned and better!! She is awesome! As good as dentist can get!

I try not to give out too many five star ratings, but given I'm a nervous dental patient and how well this visit went - five stars is appropriate!
No scolding for not having been to the dentist in a *very* long time (and yes, I deserved a scolding). No over-eagerness to do any procedures. Just a concerted effort to understand me as a patient, identify my needs, and get me the right treatments. The staff was also super nice, super patient - it really felt like a team effort and that everyone was on the same page with my dental care.
First impressions are pretty important, and this one has convinced me to come back again. Thanks, Dr. Jang

I've been going to Dr. Jang for 2 visits and have thoroughly enjoyed the good bedside manner as well as the friendly hygienists and front desk staff. I come from a troubled childhood of bad dentists so I definitely can vouch for her being one of the good ones!

Like some of the other reviewers, I had a dentist-phobia and as a result hadn't actually seen one in many years. After deciding to finally use my dental benefit that I had been paying for from my employer, I did some Yelp searching and came across Dr. Jang with 5 stars. I decided to give it a shot and made at appointment. I was dreading the first appointment for fear that I'd be told I'd need root canals, cavities filled, implants, and the whole works since I hadn't seen a dentist in so long.
The initial visit went really well and I had since gone back for a 2-session deep clean. Dr. Jang has a great bed-side manner. She explains everything thoroughly before she does them and makes sure the patient is completely comfortable before proceeding with anything. This sort of transparency and honesty is what I value most in a doctor, best describing Dr. Jang.
I also never felt like I got sold on procedures that were not necessary (needing a cavity filled, etc.). I am definitely going back and would highly recommend her.

I've been meaning to write a review for so long, I can't believe I've forgotten to write it! I've had thousands of dollars worth of dental work done on my teeth in my life time and have been to many different dentists and have had mostly OK experiences, and a couple of horrendous ones. Dr. Jang is one of the two best dentists I have ever been to, on many levels.
She is super professional, personable, knows her stuff, and doesn't recommend unnecessary work. It's also cool that she does the cleaning herself, so that she is really seeing what is going on with your teeth. They take insurance and do the billing! Read what everyone else says, it's all true. :)

Dr. Jang is great. I thought about taking away one star, because it took her 3 tries to get my crown colored correctly, but I hesitated because she could have just slapped it on and said whatever. She really wanted to make it perfect and took the time necessary to make sure it was great. Additionally, there were a couple mixups with her staff, and communication can be quite hard. They rarely answer the phone, and call backs often take 24+ hours. Other than that, I have no complaints. Dr. Jang is very kind and takes pride in her work.

I have had my teeth cleaned. Recently, I went in for a crown replacement and it was just the perfect fit when they tried the permanent crown. In about 5 minutes, my permanent crown was cemented. It was a great experience.

I don't have a fear of dentists per se but my gums have a fear of getting nicked. I was referred to Dr. Jang from a co-worker who did have a fear of dentists so I decided to give her a try.
This was actually my second visit and I figured I should probably give her a review since I really like her office. However on my first visit when I was filling out the paperwork, I realized I lost my insurance card but since I had 2 co-workers already using her services they took the time to lookup my information for me. They do email and text reminders which is great for folks like me who constantly forget stuff. In fact this was a reschedule because when they called to confirm my last appointment, I had the wrong date listed on my calendar. They were easy going about setting up this new appointment rather than giving a disapproving tone because of my screwup.
As far as the 2nd visit went, I was seen within a minute or 2 of arriving. The hygienist was friendly and asking about any dental concerns including one I brought up at the last visit, which shows me she actually reviewed my file before seeing me. I also inquired about a new nightguard and by the end of my cleaning they already had my insurance info on it and my total out of pocket cost should I choose to get one. BTW the hygienist works fast but never once did she nick my gums :)
Everyone is warm, friendly and caring. Every step of the way they take the time to make sure you're comfortable and explain what they will be doing so you understand the process. Overall my experience shows me they value my time as much as theirs, they care about their patients as people, not just another file and I've never felt that they are trying to sell you something you don't need.

I was looking for a new dentist and Dr. Jang was recommended to me by a co-worker. I must say - she and her staff are spectacular! I could not be happier to have found her. I've been to her office twice now and I love the way it's run. They give you the costs upfront, everything runs on time, the staff is very knowledgeable, and there is a great energy to the place. If you are looking for a new dentist, look no further. Jang is your woman! Thank you so much!

It is always a pain to find a dentist in a new city (especially as large as Newton or Waltham), so it took me a couple of visits before I found one that I trusted, and that happens to be this clinic. I've been going here for about a year now, had a number of cavities filled (I literally didn't feel a thing, and even the anaesthetics didn't make me feel numb for longer than 30 minutes max!). Dr. Jang is really friendly, and also the mouth hygienist Susan does a great job.
It does take a long time to setup a new appointment (for new joiners), but apart from that highly recommended.

I've been seeing Dr. Jang for my dental needs and she has been fantastic. Professional, personable, knowledgable, and all around a great dentist. The same is true of the hygienists, they have all been a pleasure to work with and very thorough. I've had all kinds of work done by him and his staff - regular cleanings, occasional fillings, a crown, a referral to an endodontist for a root canal, and a custom night guard. All great work. I think I originally found him through Yelp reviews, and the reviews don't lie. This dentist is a keeper.

I have been very impressed with the skill and attitude at this office. Dr. Jang and her colleagues are all very friendly, gentle and thorough. They are also happy to answer all your questions and explain insurance and costs simply and respectfully. I had a very pleasant cleaning and came back for a new filling - they explained what they were doing and allowed me to watch (if you are into that sort of thing).
They were also concerned about my wisdom teeth (which have grown in and impacted during the 2-3 years I wasn't receiving dental care), and referred me to an office that has so far been very thorough, helpful and friendly.
Dr. Mitchell's staff doesn't do anything without finding out the cost to you, and they even offered to refund me fully if it turned out I didn't need the new filling (but I did, as there was decay inside the tooth).
Also great conversationalists (for a dental exam situation) and lovely bedside manner.

Highly recommended! I have been going to Dr. Jang for a while and keep enjoying it every time. It's very common to dread going to a doctor appointment or getting a dental procedure. Jenna, my hygienist is very amicable, thorough on her cleanings and very informative on next steps (eek! flossing...) The dentist is very professional, super approachable and kind to explain in simple terms any issue that I might be having. And I highlight she is very patient as I tend to be a person who asks a lot of questions :) I keep recommending her to all of my friends in need for a dentist.

It's thanks to Dr. Jang for spotting a long-standing issue that I was able to resolve and really have a much better time managing my teeth. Dr. Jang is very friendly and clearly cares a lot about her patients, and is always ready and available to answer any questions that you have. She's very friendly and is always genuinely interested in what you're up to.
I've had to pop in for quick sessions day-of before, and the office is often able to accommodate them in a pinch. The staff, for the most part, takes great care to make sure that their patients are comfortable and feel good about their teeth.
As a whole, though, I really always hated going to the dentist when I was younger, and Dr. Jang has always delivered a really pleasant and positive experience. I recommend her to all of my friends and hope to keep coming here for some time.
