About Dr. Zhe Xu
John Z. Xu has been residing in Boston since 2011 and is committed to providing quality dental care in a comfortable environment. Dentistry is one of his greatest passions, and he is constantly learning and staying up to date with the latest technology and procedures. He enjoys conversing with his patients and finds satisfaction in answering questions and sharing his dental knowledge.
Originally from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Dr. Xu earned his Bachelor's degree from Cornell University and completed a Master's in Biomedical Science at Tufts University. In 2016, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University School of Dental Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Xu enjoys running, exploring new cuisine, and spending time with his cat.

I scheduled an emergency appointment at Gio Dental because I was having terrible pain. Not only did they fit me in same-day, but Dr. Xu was able to treat my tooth so that I wouldn't have to come back.

I was in much pain before seeing Dr. Xu. I told the receptionist that I thought I needed a root canal and sure enough I did. Thankfully they arranged Dr. Xu's schedule so that he could do it at my first appointment. The whole process went so smoothly - I'm so thankful to Dr. Xu for his help!

I've finally found a dentist that I can trust! Dr. Xu really cares about your health and not your wallet. He took the time to listen to my concerns and laid out all my options-not just the one that would make him the most money.

Dr. Xu is wonderful! I feel like he prescribes treatment fairly conservatively which is important to me. So many dentists try to give you a whole new mouth, but it seems like he only recommends what's absolutely necessary.

Dr. Xu is a genuinely nice guy. He didn't make me feel bad for not seeing a dentist in so many years. He was patient while I told him why I hated going to the dentist, and he explained everything to me as he as was doing it. Can't recommend enough!
