Before the appointment I received several texts warning I would be charged a substantial amount for missing an appointment. That should have been a red flag. My appointment was for an exam and cleaning. After the exam I was told that no cleaning could be done due to my having infected gums, and that the is deep cleaning would have to be done by a periodontist. The office manager said that she was a former employee of the periodontist I was referred to. Despite claiming that the cleaning couldn't be done due to infected gums, I was prescribed NO antibiotics for said "infection". When I objected to not receiving the cleaning I came in for, the office manager proceeded to lecture me sternly, raising her voice and saying that if I couldn't trust them, it might not be a "good fit". That necessitates me having to pay for another exam elsewhere, as my insurance was charged for my yearly one here. Do NOT recommend!

When we arrived we found a small parking lot that we were unable to determine just who could park there. A nice man asked if he could help (turns out, we were not masking our “will we get towed?” anxiety well. Lesson learned.). When we told him where we were going he assured us parking there would be fine. That nice man was the dentist!! In addition to calming our parking fears, he took excellent care of our elderly mother. Though with some shade thrown at me for not getting her in sooner- in the last 10 years we have had a house fire, experienced homelessness, moved, dealt with Mom’s multiple strokes, late on set dementia and other health issues all while taking care of a disabled sister. So, while I understand where he was coming from- maybe wait to find out what the patient’s situation is before casting aspersions. Otherwise it was a really good visit.

The service at the office was fine however patients should be aware that the practice is now using a third party firm, Zocdoc, to handle appointments. This means you'll be having to set up a separate account and deal with their pesky reminders and ratings requests. Personally I get quite tired of being constantly marketed to whenever I want to make a simple purchase, transaction or appointment.

I was worried about going to a dentist after 12 years of avoiding it. They were great. The dentist helped me with some other physical health issues that I had no idea about and no one yelled at me for taking so long to make an appointment.

From start to finish Dr. Kaady and his staff were all very courteous, and professional while maintaining a fun and relaxed atmosphere. It’s not hard to tell that he and his staff really enjoy what they do. And, their work reflects that. Even though I had only gone in for a check-up, he noticed a crack in a tooth I have and fixed it on the spot! It’s that attention to detail that will keep me coming back. I see why he was chosen as Portland’s Best Dentist.

I had been going to the same dentist for 25 years before I moved to Portland. I was nervous going into a new office but they were so wonderful. The dental hygienist was sweet and took extra steps to be gentle with nerve damage I have in my mouth. Highly recommend this practice!
