Dr. Ziwei Gao grew up on Long Island. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York, Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, she completed a one-year advanced training in General Practice Dentistry at Northwell Health in Manhasset, NY. At Northwell, Dr. Gao gained experience in all phases of general dentistry, treating patients of all ages and medical complexities. Dr. Gao is a compassionate and dedicated practitioner who puts all her patients at ease. When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Gao enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, hiking, and spending time with family, friends, and dogs.

Had a great experience! Staff were all super nice and friendly and sympathetic to previous bad experiences with other dentists. It seems there might have been a communication error between Zocdoc and their system but they still fit me in even though it was the end of the day!

This is my third visit and it was another pleasant experience. While I didn’t see my usual doctor, I was more than happy with everyone who helped me - from the front desk to the technicians. They definitely do a thorough job and don’t rush you. I asked a lot of questions and felt very supported.

This was my second time at this office. Barely waited 5 minutes to be seen. I just had a basic follow-up and cleaning. One of the techs noticed something from a scan I had done from my previous appointment, and I wound up being referred to an oral surgeon as a precaution. The doctor came in at the end for a few minutes. She was super attentive and answered all of my questions. Warm and friendly. I had a positive experience.

I arrived 10-15 min early and the front desk saw me right away. She couldn't find my appointment, but when I showed her my confirmation, she assured me that they could squeeze me in. I waited about 20 minutes. The nurse answered all of my anxious questions and was a great help. I came in for a regular cleaning, but wound up getting a deep clean, so I was there for about 2 hours total. The doctor came in at the end to chat a little about cavities and oral health. I think we were together for maybe 2 minutes. I must have been the last one there, so I'm sure she was tired and ready to go home. I don't have any complaints, really. Overall, it was a fine experience and I'll be back for a check-up.

Doctor Gao was incredibly kind and caring. She was very patient and I felt very comfortable with her, and she went the extra mile to ensure I felt no pain or discomfort during the procedure. Made me realize how some of my past dentists have not been quite as caring.

Although I wasn’t seen by Dr. Gao, the dental hygienist and Dr. Dorfman were both very friendly, thorough and informative. It was a little surprising not having my insurance plan accepted as it shows up on Zocdoc, but I should know better to call the office directly and double check before showing up. Otherwise, I had a great cleaning experience and my teeth look great! :)

To start she was very nice coming in. She was very informative about the dental work that I want and on what she suggested for me. Overall the environment was amazing and I would definitely recommend anyone I know or that need dental treatment to her and Tribeca Dental.

I had nothing but great experences while going to see Dr. Gao and Dr. Leonetti. Their team were great and both doctors did an amazing job explaining everything that they were doing and listening to what I had to say. Dr. Gao kept me calm during all my appointments and answered all my questions. I will continue to go to Tribeca Dental Care and highly recommend them to anyone.

The visit was amazing. Dr. Gao explained the procedure I needed fully, where I had a great understanding of what needed to be done. If I unfortunately need more dental work, she will be the one I'll go to.
