Amanda Blassl, MSN

Amanda Blassl, MSN

Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
AZ
I am open to new patients dealing with anxiety, trauma and PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and depression or the exhaustion of always holding it together, including first responders, perfectionists, and people-pleasers. Many arrive overwhelmed or stuck after a hard season, ready for change but unsure where to start. I get to know your full picture, history, symptoms, and goals, then build a plan together that may include medication, therapy techniques like CBT or trauma-focused approaches, and coping strategies that fit your real life, one clear step at a time. I'm a double board-certified nurse practitioner in both family practice (FNP) and psychiatric mental health (PMHNP). My approach treats the whole person, not just a diagnosis, pairing medication management with talk therapy to fit your goals. Your first visit is a thorough evaluation, often lasting around an hour, and giving us real time to build a plan together. If you've been carrying anxiety, trauma, or burnout on your own, you don't have to keep doing it alone. Reaching out takes courage, and you deserve care that sees the whole picture and a plan that actually fits your life. If that sounds like what you've been looking for, I'd love to talk with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m Amanda, a nurse practitioner double board-certified in family practice and psychiatric mental health. My clinical background spans post-operative and hospital nursing, then family practice and urgent care, before I specialized in psychiatry. I also teach nursing students in pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, and psychiatric clinical practice, among other courses. I work with clients age 16 and older, with particular interest in anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, OCD, and first responders, along with perfectionists and people-pleasers used to holding everything together. I also treat panic disorder, social anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood disorders, PMDD, ADHD, insomnia, and other stress-related conditions. When I'm not practicing or teaching, I'm spending time with my husband, daughters, and two sweet kitties, Ivy and Winter. I love to travel, hike, visit new food places, and read books.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach starts with the whole person, not just a diagnosis. My background in family practice allows me to delve into the cause behind your symptoms. Our first visit allows for an hour-long evaluation where we’ll talk through your history, current symptoms, past treatment, and what you’re hoping to get out of care. From there, we build a plan together, one that may include medication, therapeutic techniques, and practical coping strategies, always centered on your goals and what actually works for your life. I communicate in a warm, affirming way, with clear structure and direction when it’s needed, especially around medication management and next steps. Every visit ends with a plan and a scheduled follow-up, so you always know what comes next. You are always welcome to ask questions. I want you to understand your journey to healing and feel welcome to express hesitations, worries, and past experiences without fear of judgment.
