About Dr. Eugene Fine

Eugene Fine, M.D. is a highly skilled, Board Certified urologist, who currently works at New York Health’s Central Park office, located at 12 East 86th Street. Dr. Fine graduated with a Medical Degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a year of residency in general surgery at Downstate Medical Center. This was followed by a complete residency, including a year as Chief Resident, in urology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a member of several organizations including the American Urologic Association as well as the New York Section of the American Urological Association. Additionally, Dr.Fine has authored numerous publications, most recently, Ultrasound and the Complete Urologist: Methodology (Part 1) and Outcomes (Part 2). Currently, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology in the Department of Urology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Having appeared numerous times in the past, he most recently was again recognized and honored to be in Castle Connolly:Top Doctors, as well as Super Doctors. In addition he has been named by the New York Times Newspaper and Magazine, New York Magazine, as well as by US News and World Report, as one of the best urologists. He is affiliated with and is a voluntary attending physician in Urology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital.

Dreary, time-worn office. Instead of preparing for my visit, perusing the paperwork they had me fill out, Dr. Fine - a dour, uncongenial chap - spent his time badgering his staff about some overbooking problem.

Poor experience overall. Very rude, not helpful.
Not the best experience. The staff at the front was rather cold and was noticeably texting and scrolling Instagram / Facebook for several minutes while I stood at the desk to check in prior to even offering to get my paperwork. Office was seemingly in the 1990s and had no digital form-fill option. Once in the room, Doctor Fine asked several basic questions about my current medications and medical history (all standard). I replied with a medication I am on that he was not familiar with (it is a relatively new treatment/medication, but one that every other doctor I’ve seen in recent years is well aware of), and his response to it came across as extremely snide and condescending. After he ran through the steps to see if the reason I came in was something concerning, he simply said “there’s nothing there” in a tone that implied I was dumb to even have come in to get a professional opinion on something I was concerned about. I will not be going back and will not recommend this office.
I recently relocated to NY, and was completely impressed with every facit of my visit. Intake, medical history review, recommendations, referrals for labs and CT scan, and dates to follow up. Thank you Dr. Fine & Staff (Team)!
