The best part about my job is seeing my patients transform from a place of struggle to one of serenity. My approach My number one priority with my patients is to listen. Then use my knowledge and experience, in addition to what's most important to my patients, and implement those attributes into a treatment plan that will be successful. My focus I have worked inpatient with very mentally ill clients and I have work outpatient with very stable clients. My youngest clients are 4yo and my oldest are 89. The age and disorder does not matter, what matters is that I am able to help my client feel better. My communication style I am very laid back and comfortable with my clients. I try to meet them on their level and create an atmosphere that allows them to feel heard and validated. My goals for you My clients are in control of their treatment goals. I listen to what is most important to them, and then communicate reasonable expectations and work on what is a priority for them first. It's always a question in our first meeting, "If we could fix one thing this very minute, what would that be?" My first session with you The first meeting is always a lot of questions: psychiatric history, social, environmental, family, and current/previous symptoms. I look at the forms already completed and expand on those. This helps me to get to know my clients a little better and helps me identify ways to get them feeling better.
