Dr. Spingarn is a great listener and will explain his rationale behind potential treatments and why he's recommending what he is, which is often a rare quality in a doctor.

I've visited Dr. Spingarn twice so far. The first time, I found him funny and approachable, but I found it slightly odd that the nurse/PA (not sure which) stood in the (very small) room the whole time, without explaining why orsaying anything. During my second visit, I started to reconsider my initial impression of Dr. Spingarn. It's hard to explain, but there was a strange vibe (tension) between him and the nurses/PAs. My problem has yet to be resolved, and he suggested a black box drug, which made me nervous (especially since he seemed to shrug off the side effects). (I also want to note that during my first visit, he prescribed me a drug without mentioning the side effects. When I picked it up, there was a warning about symptoms that could last for months after taking it, which I think he probably should've mentioned!). I'm debating whether I want to continue seeing Dr. Spingarn, or get a second opinion. At this point, I'm questioning whether his manner is sincere. As for the office itself, the floor layout is confusing, and the receptionists are apathetic at best. My first time there, one arrived well after the office first opened, and both times, I've waited a bit to see the doctor. That being said, they've been helpful over the phone as I've had to clear up an insurance misunderstanding.

Funny and competent! I wish all heath care providers were as great as this guy. He thoughtfully asked me how I was doing and what the issues were and then conducted a thorough examination and course of treatment.

Aaron was great. Very communicative and easy to talk to, the checkup was really quick. The wait time however was almost an hour, and while there was definitely a lot of paperwork to fill out, it was still a bit ofa long wait, I don't think they have enough people at the front desk. Maybe it's different if you're not a new patient. Either way I recommend Dr. Spingarn.

I'm really pleased with my appointment. Dr. Spingarn was excellent! He didn't rush our appointment and I felt like he was really listening to me and giving me all the options. The only thing I'd say is come about 10 minutesearly for paperwork. I showed up only a 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment and wish I would've left a bit more buffer time, but that was completely my fault.

Dr Spingarn is always great, the nurses at this location were great too. The receptionist was very inefficient. Made me wait over 10 minutes before checking me in and then told me I had to fill out paperwork for first timepatient (I usually see Dr Spingarn in a different location). The nurse waited while he took his time putting in my info. I was at the office about an hour but only saw the dr for about 10 minutes. Ill go back to the other location.

Dr. Spingarn was so professional, prompt, thorough, informative and patient. He thoroughly explained everything to me from the procedures he was doing in the office, when to take my medications and what foods to start to stay away from. Hisphysicians assistant was a sweet heart and I dont think I waited in the office for more than 5 minutes, and I went mid day! All in all, fantastic experience with this doctor, I would HIGHLY recommend.

Dr Spingarn is by far the best doctor it been to in NY. He took the time to explain what was wrong, and didn't want to prescribe any medication/antibiotics (which I loved bc doctors usually just give medication for anything andeverything, even when it's not needed) he was kind and put me at ease.

Didn't take my concerns or fears seriously. His bodily reaction to me telling him how rarely I get sick, or even see a doctor, and that I was scared (all true and said as a means of trying to establish thatI am not a hypochondriac) was the equivalent of a gigantic eye roll. I'm sure he hears that sort of stuff a lot, but his bedside manner sucks. After antibiotics cleared an infection but didn't cure lingering problems with headaches and sinuses he said "not much more I can do" and offered weak guidance as to what I should do next. Just didn't seem to care. I'm going elsewhere for a second opinion.

Absolutely no bed side manners nor did he make me feel like my concerns were important. He simply generalized my fear of being scope and dismissed the fact that my ears still had water in them and stated if I couldn'tget over him scope me with nothing to deal with my anxiety he couldn't assist me. I had to ask him to use non latex gloves because I have an allergy. The fact they even had latex was an issue and the office looked like something out of the 60's. I actually work in health care and never have I experienced this type of insensitivity. I will not be returning ........

Took a very long time for him to see me. I think his staff forgot I was there. When he did see me, he had a peculiar bedside manner. Not rude, just odd. He did seem to have an issue takingmy concerns seriously. I told him my sinuses made clicking noises and he said, "they do that. You could do it as a party trick."

So Dr. Spingarn is a nice guy and I'm sure he's a fine doctor, but I am pretty taken aback by the experience I just had. I came in because I fear that I might have a potential new allergy towalnuts. Because I had taken medicine several days ago that counteracted the effects of a scratch test, he basically told me there was nothing he could do for me. I would have to come in another day for a scratch test and even then he wouldn't be able to tell me specifically what nuts I am allergic to, if any. So he prescribed me some "in-case-of-emergency" medicine and said "ok that's it for the day." When I told him this doesn't really give me any peace of mind about whether or not I can eat nuts now (which I eat regularly), he said ok well you can go buy some nuts and come back and we can test them one by one to see what happens. So I actually left the office and came back with trail mix from Duane Reade. He said "ok start eating them one by one." So I sat there eating cashews and waiting to see whether or not I would drop dead and he would inject me to save my life. After I didn't die from the first nut, he asked if I wanted to try walnuts (which I think I'm allergic to) and I said "honestly, not really, I was hoping for a more scientific test than this." So after paying a copay and too much money on nuts, I have no real answers about my potential lethal allergy.

I've never written a bad review about anything but I felt compelled to do one here. I arrived 20 minutes early for my 10:45am appointment so I could check in with plenty of time. The doctors office was not at allbusy, maybe one other person in the waiting room at the time. After filling out information and forms online including a detailed account of what is ailing me, I was asked to fill out all the same information again which I did. I stated that I had fluid in my ear and that it was causing great pain. I was told to wait and the doctor would see me shortly. 80 minutes passed before I was seen. I asked the front desk if there was an issue or if I should reschedule. They said there was no problem and the doctor would see me. Throughout my wait, I saw a doctor wandering around back and forth without any urgency but I wouldn't come to realize that he was the doctor I would be seeing. This was Dr. Spingarn. At 11:55am I was seen by the doctor. He exams my ears (I have fluid in them and its causing pain) and he said I needed to see an audiologist to test my hearing before he could do anything related to draining fluid in my ears. He suggests I go to the Eye and Ear Infirmary and "take my chances" as to whether they will admit me to get a hearing test from see an Audiologist. When I asked if he could call them and tell them its urgent (which he said it wasand get an appointment) he said "it would take me 15 minutes and I would be on hold and it would keep me from seeing other patients." And rhetorically asked "Do you want me to keep them waiting?" When I asked if I there were other doctors I should try, referring to an Audiologist, he says "that's your choice. I can't stop you" in a rude tone. I spent a total of 90 minutes in his office with 5 minutes of actual face time with the most unhelpful doctor I've ever met. He did not apologize for keeping me waiting, not could he have been less helpful in treating me and providing helpful options. Another note, there was a patient that left a few minutes after I arrived. She returned about 15 minutes later and told me that he needed to buy a can of nuts to test a nut allergy because Dr. Spingarn did not have anything to test her with. I was baffled that patients are required to bring their own items they maybe allergic to in order to be tested. She asks if she should schedule another appointment and he tells her no, just ask for me when you come back. So she walks to a Duane Reade to get the nuts and tells the front desk that she has returned. Again, there is no one in this doctors office waiting room other than me. The woman is left waiting for another 30 minutes before the doctor sees her again and says she should have started eating the nuts right away. How was was she supposed to know! She asks him how long the test would take, he tells her several hours. Well then why tell her to come back with the nuts if she has to wait several hours before she can take the test? Ive never had such an bad experience with a doctor. I would understand if they were understaffed and the office was full of patients and they were backed up. This was not the case and there was no acknowledging the 80 minute wait nor an apology. Either would have kept me from writing this review. Do not see this doctor if you can help it.
