“He is an amazing listener. But he also is well-versed in the medical and legal requirements for diagnosing and prescribing the right medications. I've noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference in my ability to work, focus, and handle some unusual stressors in my life since working with him. He is available to talk and has been very supportive of and communicative with my wife as she helps care for me at my lowest points! I'm simply grateful for his help. This is not an over-exaggeration or inflated review by any means - I would highly recommend him if you have unusual or hard to explain stressors in your life. He assured me on my first visit that he would work to make sure that I do not stay where I was at... And he followed through.”

He has truly become a major life-changer. Not only did he listen to me thoroughly and ask very insightful questions, but he also acted fast to meet my desperate need for a change in my mental health. Dr. Fofanah is an incredible doctor and I'd recommend him 100%. He is very generous with his time and has made himself available to the extent that I know that I always have support. I was going through the worst part of my life up until now, and he help me be able to handle my anxieties, and be able to spend significantly more time with my wife and children. Dr. Fofanah is very understanding and a great listener – that is something I have not experienced from any other doctor to that extent. If you're considering, you can expect a kind, understanding, and fast-acting doc who will be 100% on your side to help you. That's exactly what he was for me.
I had a few appointments with Dr. Fofanah—under no circumstances would I recommend him. He was never on time for my appointments (and was driving for one of them), and he and his office were unreachable while I was waiting. Here's a specific example of the poor service I received: his office called me on Christmas Eve to tell me he had to reschedule our appointment we booked a month prior. No big deal, except that my medication would run out before our next appointment. I made this clear to the office worker and messaged Dr. Fofanah about this, but I still did not receive a prescription in time to refill my medicine. I am currently seeking another mental health provider because I have never received such poor service from a mental health professional.

Great provider. I’ve had multiple sclerosis for 20 years. I also have Complex PTSD. I know by now when I’ve found a provider who’s easy to work with and on my side as a patient. Clear thinker and communicator. Doesn’t fall back on the bureaucracy of the healthcare system. Works clearly and consistently. In demeanor, feels like a provider from 20 years ago, which is definitely a good thing. Also, friendly.

Out of all the psychiatrists I've had, he was the most attentive, patient, and thorough doctor I've had. He let me know of health issues that may pop up that I never knew and that other psychiatrists had failed to mention to me, even though I had multiple, and had been on the same meds for a while. He was very easygoing and easy to talk to. I would recommend him to anyone who has insurance that he takes.

it is not easy to flay myself open. Therapy doctors I've tried always tell me I am too complicated to get help. what do you do when your life is so bad you're past the point that you're fixable? too far gone to get help by professionals? must be alot bc everyone bee4 this doc has. For the first time in my life I can't deal, can't fix myself. I Was NOT expecting what I got with this zocdoc dr. He is WONDERFUL! KINd & funny, reads your spirit well & didn't tell me I was hopeless, go away. I don't think I could ever get anyone better- he fits me. Doesn't judge me, listens, REALLY listens. He didn't blink an eye @/my severe MASTcell allergy hinderances. NO one has done that. Literally. NO ONE. I'm blown away- I wish my words could describe him better. If you are hurting, lost, scared, worried? If talking to someone initially terrifies you into a puff of smoke, black skid marks & the world's first Olympic moon walk? stop here. safe healing here. (Just don't take up all the appt times! ;)
