Adebola Adegbenro, APRN, APN

Adebola Adegbenro, APRN, APN

Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
WA
I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner in Florida, Massachusetts, and Washington State. I have extensive experience with children, adults, and geriatric patients. I always let my patients know that they are not alone in their recovery, and mental health illness needs a collaborative approach with the patient taking an active role in their recovery. My mission is developing and maintaining lifelong partnership with my patients to support stability and recovery. I provide trauma-informed, affirming, and holistic mental health care to all, especially the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and people of color. I understand the impact of systemic oppression, bias, and trauma on mental health. I combined evidence-based psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, promoting a safe healing environment, liberation, and empowerment. I have empathy, compassion, strong listening and communication skills, and an evidence-based approach to delivering care. I am devoted to fostering dignity, empowerment, and reducing stigma linked to mental health illness, and encouraging patients to take charge and play an active role in their healing. No wait list.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I often use CBT in my practice with medication management. CBT helps understand how thoughts and emotions affect mental health and recovery. During treatment, I will help you learn how to challenge these thoughts and replace them with more positive ones. I will also help you identify your coping skills and how to strengthen them during a crisis.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My initial consultation entails gathering medical history, a list of medications, and a referral for lab tests. I may refill the medication if there are appropriate lab results within the past 3 months (EKG, CBC for stimulant prescription, thyroid test, CMP, etc.), for other diagnoses.
