She completed her residency in psychiatry and her fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System (Zucker Hillside Hospital at Northwell Health). She was an attending and ER psychiatrist at North Shore University Hospital, providing psychiatric care to medically ill patients. She later transitioned to adult outpatient care at Maimonides Medical Center, treating a variety of psychiatric illnesses. Throughout her career, she has taught and supervised residents and medical students. Talkiatry takes medication management seriously. All state-controlled substance databases are reviewed and taken into consideration during your initial evaluation.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I am so glad I met with Dr. Veksman. I’ve had negative experiences with psychiatrists in the past so I wasn’t sure what to expect. She was very professional, intelligent, and understanding. I’m relieved to have found a doctor who I feel that I can trust and rely on for proper medication management.

I hardly write reviews but as soon as the appointment ended I had to! Dr. Veksman was attentive, a wonderful listener, and very thorough. I had been experiencing problems my whole life and she listened and inquired to learn more. She made me feel respected and like I had a plan for my future to improve. Highly recommend.

Great psychiatrist. She listens and is very attuned to what her patient’s need. The billing is also very easy and goes through my insurance.

Great psychiatrist, very empathetic and understanding and willing to listen despite what I would say was a lot of rambling on my part. I went into the appointment in a very vulnerable state and Dr. Veksman was very considerate of both the way I was feeling and the concerns I had and willing to meet me where I was comfortable with regards to treatment. Would highly recommend!
