(Amy) Afsaneh Ighani, M.D. is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over 25 years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient care in the Dallas area. She grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed her internal medicine residency at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. She began her medical career as a hospitalist at Baylor Garland Medical Center in 1998 and later transitioned to outpatient practice at Dallas Medical Specialists in 2004. Dr. Ighani is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi. Dr. Ighani believes in a holistic approach to healthcare that emphasizes maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet, exercise, and stress management. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ighani enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring local restaurants, and attending theatrical productions. She loves traveling, hiking, water rafting, and participating in medical mission trips overseas to serve underserved populations in South America. She believes that truly getting to know her patients and expanding her medical knowledge are the most rewarding aspects of her job.
