About Dr. Agnieszka Kokoszka
Dr. Kokoszka received her MD degree from the State University of New York at Stonybrook in 2002. She completed her internship in internal medicine at St. Luke’s –Roosevelt Hospital/Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and her residency in neurology at St.Vincent’s Medical Center Manhattan/New York Medical College in 2007. Prior to her clinical training in neurology, she worked as a clinical researcher at the Beth Israel Spine Institute. She completed a clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the State University of New York at Stonybrook and an additional year of training in intraoperative monitoring at Roosevelt Hospital in 2009. After graduation, she worked as an attending at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital and then at New York Neurology Associates practicing outpatient and inpatient neurology and clinical neurophysiology until the summer of 2015. Most recently in the fall of 2015, she started working at Neurology and Neurotesting. She continues to maintain her affiliation and privileges with St. Luke’s- Roosevelt-Mount Sinai Hospitals. Her experience includes evaluating outpatient and inpatient neurology patients as well as interpretation of various neurophysiological tests, such as EEGs, video EEGs, including complicated ICU studies, evoked potentials and EMGS/NCS. She is also skilled in performing Botox injections in the head and neck. Her professional interests are general neurology, clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, and headache. She is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology.

The problem I had was NOT with the doctor's office, where all were total professionals. The problem is with Zocdoc. I was sent instructions with which to prepare for an MRI, which was not on tap today. I had a brain EEG. I need not have removed my five piercings, nor my denture. That is NOT the doctor's fault, and Gordon, who gave me the EEG, was a total professional.

Dr. Kokoszka was excellent - exactly what I want in a doctor. She was kind, yes, but I most appreciated her professionalism. She took me seriously, asked good questions, recorded the answers on the spot, explained her preliminary diagnosis (probably nothing wrong), arranged for further testing, was careful to check that the tests were covered by my insurance, and arranged for the tests. I was grateful to have a practical conversation with a clear plan of action. When you think you may be losing your memory, you don't want - or I don't want - either sympathy or dismissiveness. I wanted a plan of action. I like Dr. Kokoszka and think that we could be friends under other circumstances, but her practical, "just the facts" demeanor was exactly what I needed for this purpose.
