Getting to know Dr. Ahmad Mohammad

* NOTE: This practice does not accept any form of insurance. **Payment of the full fee is due at the visit. **Out of network invoices are provided. I am a board-certified psychiatrist who provides care through my private practice, as well as at NYU and Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings and with patients from many different backgrounds, giving me a broad perspective on mental health care. I specialize in anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, psychosis, trauma-related conditions, and the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, an evidence-based. I work closely with each patient to understand their story and create a treatment plan that aligns with their goals, values, and lifestyle.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New patients can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where they are heard and respected. I believe effective care is built on trust and partnership, and I encourage patients to take an active role in shaping their treatment plan. Every person's path is unique, so I take time to understand your experiences before recommending therapy, medication, or a combination. My goal is not only to relieve symptoms, but to support lasting well-being and help you feel empowered in daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first appointment, I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, reviewing your history, current concerns, and goals. From there, I share my impressions and recommendations, and we decide together on the best course of action. If we decide to continue working together, we will create a treatment plan that may include psychotherapy, medication management, or a combination tailored to your needs and preferences. Follow up visit focus on monitoring progress, adjusting treatment, and addressing challenges as they arise, with open communication and collaboration throughout.
