Getting to know Aileen Seijo
Hi! I’m Aileen, I’m a normal human and also a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I grew up a Navy brat in San Diego and New York (go Yankees!), and love Spanish Harlem. I have a hidden obsession with all thing’s ballet - I even started taking ballet classes again after a (we’ll go with many) years break. Which basically means I’m well versed in being publicly awkward. I have a fear of heights and driving in high places (seriously, those really high freeway ramps are totally unnecessary), and last but most important, Bad Bunny is life. Don't be surprised if you randomly hear me mumbling a lyric or two. Working with me, you'll find mental health care that feels personal, compassionate, and human. I'm a native heritage Spanish speaker. I offer fully bilingual psychiatric evaluations and medication management without the need for an interpreter.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I love having the kind of real conversations that happen when you’re comfortable and able to be yourself. For me, that often happens at my family gatherings when the lawn chairs would come out and we sit around talking—those times are filled with stories, laughter, and a little (unsolicited) life advice. I bring that same warmth and connection into my practice by creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. I work with adolescents and adults using humor, honesty, and expertise to help navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and all of life’s many transitions.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our first session is simply a conversation. We'll get to know each other, talk about what's been going on, and discuss what you hope to achieve. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that's tailored to you, and at follow-up visits we'll check in, celebrate progress, troubleshoot challenges, and make adjustments where needed. Think of me as your partner in mental wellness—with a little humor mixed in as there is always room for a little smile along the way.
