Alan Blum, MD, is an experienced physician with Summit Health's Pulmonology team. He earned his medical degree from Universidad de Monterrey Facultad de Medicina and completed both his residency and fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Blum chose a career in health care to make the world healthier one person at a time. As a pulmonologist, his expertise lies in diagnosing and treating patients with all types of lung illnesses. During visits, Dr. Blum focuses on his patients' needs and helps ease their anxiety and fears through attentive listening. “It is my primary goal to have the patient understand their illness and have a desire to partner with me in treating it successfully as we plan next steps,” he explains. I went in with a good attitude and that Dr Blum would agree with me that it was more than just using an inhaler my previous Dr felt that it was all I needed. Mind you I have been to the hospital a few times and countless times to City MD with difficulty breathing. At my family’s request I went to Dr Blum and after testing my breathing etc I do have advanced asthma and he has since prescribed the proper medication so that I can feel better and regain my life back. I’m a pleased I went and would recommend Dr Blum 100%.

If it is possible because there is a delay I would like to be told. Instead of sitting & waiting & not know what's going on. I understand some patients have a longer visit because of their medical conditions. A heads up would be nice to keep me in the loop. Thanks
Dr Blum is an outstanding doctor! He is very patient, understanding and very thorough. He explains in great detail your diagnosis so that you understand. I left his office feeling that I found the tight doctor that is going to help me ! I highly recommend Dr Blum!

It was a very good.
Dr. Alan Blum is a most caring and a most well informed doctor! He is the only one who just recently found that I have a heart murmur. This led me to eventually be treated by a heart surgeon for a mitro valve problem. Dr. Blum has definitely saved my life! I recently realized that years ago I was also treated by Dr. Blum. At that time he was the only doctor who found a problem with my lung...which again saved my life! I thank God for this man becoming a doctor!
How fast his staff and Dr. took care of me, giving me all my test and results on the same day. Staff members were caring, friendly, and very helpful.

I think that the staff should address the patients by their last name, not their first name especially senior citizen patients. It is just more professional.

Dr Blum provided his usual good service. I was surprised, though, he didn't xray me. I assume he heard enough via the stethoscope to convince himself an xray was unnecessary.
Doctor blum was exceptional he showed so much concern towards my health and took every extra measure to resolved my issue, after only few days my situation feels so much better he have my asthma under control after only a first visit. Than you so much
