About Dr. Alan Fein

Alan Fein, MD, is Board Certified in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York and completed his fellowship at Bronx Municipal Hospital. Dr. Fein has served as the Division Chief for Sleep, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine at Winthrop Hospital and North Shore LIJ. He is the former President of the American Lung Association of Nassau-Suffolk and currently serves on the national board of the American Thoracic Society. Dr. Fein has authored nearly 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and over 100 review articles and book chapters on topics such as the diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia, management of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and tropical lung disease.

Was told to come early. Arrived over 1 hour early for my appointment only to be called in for triage 10 mins before my scheduled appointment. Numerous calls prior to confirm insurance and still had an issue upon arrival. Needed a form to be completed to return to work and time frame of the form completion was not clear. Left waiting in the exam room. Was greeted and given time frame of all next expected moves by Julio. Was pleasant upon calling me back to the room and made me aware of all updates.

Very poor communication and instructions. He send me upstairs to draw blood and X-rays without even giving me a room number, assumed I knew. After finding the room I had to go up and down three times because the doctor never sent the script for bloodwork. Two days after I go to the pharmacy to get my prescription that was supposed to be sent by the Doctor,still hasn’t send it. But they sure didn’t forget the copayment.
