Hi everyone! My name is Alanna. I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, currently licensed in Maine. I have worked in the healthcare field for nearly 12 years, beginning as a nurses aide. Over the course of my career I have worked in Veteran's health, long term care, skilled nursing, residential psych, inpatient neuropsych, and inpatient acute behavioral health. Today, I specialize in medication management for all ages with a passion for teens, young adults, racial minorities and those struggling with substance use. Our first session will be an introduction to one another. This will be the basis of our therapeutic relationship. There will be several questions that will cover mental, physical, emotional, and social history. The purpose of this comprehensive evaluation will help me best address your needs as my client, explore your goals, and address any questions you may have.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I keep my approach to care lighthearted, incorporating humor, humility, and transparency into my work. I like to make my clients feel seen, heard, and safe in our sessions. I use a collaborative approach with all of my clients by sharing my thoughts for treatment, gaining feedback from them, and coming up with a plan that they will ultimately feel comfortable with.
