Getting to know Alberto Sanchez
Alberto is a proud member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, he completed his undergraduate studies with Summa Cum Laude honors from Florida Atlantic University. While continuing his education, Alberto worked as a clinician for Jackson Health Systems and the University of Miami’s Neuroscience Department. Being part of JHS/Miami Neurology and Neuroscience Department gave him the foundation that guided him into psychiatry. In 2013, Alberto received a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Miami. He then returned to FAU and earned a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, specializing in psychiatry.
Alberto’s interest in psychiatry began after completing his military service and being honorably discharged from the US Army in 2003. Although never deployed, he saw many peers return from deployment with mental illness, including anxiety, substance abuse disorder, major depression, PTSD, and temporary psychosis. He realized many were not receiving or could not afford proper treatment due to stigma and lack of insurance.
Seeing close peers denied treatment due to financial barriers planted the seed for Happy Minds Wellness Center.
Alberto Sanchez and Happy Minds Wellness Center are devoted to providing the highest level of psychiatric mental health care at an affordable cost to clients regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, culture, or financial status. Alberto applies evidence-based psychiatric treatment combined with a holistic wellness approach to create a balanced path to recovery.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Practitioner for Happy Minds Wellness Center. We provide highly skilled psychiatric mental health-care at an affordable cost to clients in need of treatment regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, culture or financial status. We apply evidence-based psychiatric practice along with a holistic and wellness approach to treat each client creating a balanced and healthy lifestyle. We specialize in treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Mood disorder and Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorders. We offer expert consultation, evaluation and treatment to adolescents, and adults with mental health disorders.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Before our first visit each client will fill-out an intake form. On our initial visit we will meet in person or through the Telemedicine platform. We will build a rapport, and get to know each other on an individual and professional level. We will evaluate the clients past and current medical problems, psychiatric troubles, along with any stressors that may be contributing to your symptoms or difficulties. we will provide optimal individualized, one-on-one mental health-care. At Happy Minds Wellness Center, we focus on your unique mental health care needs and intervene them with treatment options customized to your specific goals. Our vision for you at Happy Minds Wellness Center is to provide you with the tools you need to be happy, balanced, and to live life to the fullest.

This experience was excellent right on time and right to the point a reminder message was sent which was great especially for these types of appointments because of what your going through was appreciated.. I liked the feed back I felt he new exactly what was feeling and made it feel comfortable for me as a first timer.

The staff at Happy Minds is super helpful and friendly and great at communicating prior to my first appointment and after. Alberto was super nice, professional yet personal, listened to my concerns and needs & communicated well about best practices for my treatment plan. I recently saw Dr. Sanchez for my ADHD and the experience was far beyond my expectations. He was phenomenal and extremely helpful! His guidance has helped me see things so much more clear. He listens carefully and patiently. I'm extremely grateful to have found such a wonderful psychiatrist. Looking forward to continue my treatment with him and his staff.
