Dr. Alexandra Grundleger, PhD

Psychologist
OH
I believe all people can benefit from therapy. Each of us has flaws and areas to improve, whether it’s ruminating on negative thoughts, feeling hopeless, using maladaptive coping like food, drugs, or alcohol, or engaging in unhealthy relationship patterns. Many hold on to negative experiences like weights around their necks, feeling burdened and overwhelmed. My aim is to loosen this noose and help you find freedom from painful thoughts and emotions. With the right therapist and motivation, positive self-improvement is possible. Becoming a therapist was the natural path for me. I earned my PhD and Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn, a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s from New York University. I am passionate about my work and know it is what I was meant to do. As a psychologist, I do meaningful, authentic, and impactful work—I witness emotional explorations, clarify negative perceptions that hold people back, and guide individuals to clearer understanding of their emotions and experiences. It is an honor to sit beside individuals as they grow and become enlightened, and I truly love what I do. My style is warm and direct. I am attuned to my clients’ experiences and gently push them to think differently—I balance being nurturing and supportive while encouraging acknowledgment of important life aspects. My nature, combined with extensive clinical training, makes me an ideal therapist for many struggles. I know how intimidating it can be to reach out, but I hope you can push past this fear and seek support during this challenging time.
