Meet Alexandra Scott I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and am passionate about providing each client with quality, compassionate, and comprehensive health services. I believe that an individualized approach is paramount to effective mental health treatment. Using a combination of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and neurobiology, I partner with each client to address their individual mental health needs and pursue their treatment goals. All treatment decisions will be a collaborative effort between the two of us. Talking about mental health can be challenging, which is why I strive to create a safe environment for all my clients. I provide brief psychotherapy rooted in motivational interviewing and mindfulness in addition to evidence-based medication management all from the comfort of your home. My specialties include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactive disorders (ADHD/ADD), panic disorder, postpartum depression, OCD, and insomnia. After getting my start as an inpatient nurse, I was able to see the ways that mental health care was overlooked. I was inspired to further my education in mental health nursing to help bridge this gap, and to work towards breaking down the stigma associated with mental health. I received my Master’s in Nursing from Marquette University and my post-masters certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Maryville University. My experience in inpatient and outpatient settings has provided me with knowledge and experience that I look forward to bringing into the Telehealth and in person settings. When I am not working with my clients I enjoy being outside, Pilates, reading, traveling, spending time with my family and dogs, and staying active.
