What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I wanted to become a Nurse Practitioner because I'm passionate about providing comprehensive, personalized care and empowering patients to take control of their health. I decided to become an NP when I saw a Nurse Practitioner deeply involved in a patient's care, not just treating them but listening and making a difference.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
What I love most about Nephrology is that you have to understand the entire patient. Nephrology interconnects with every specialty and nephrologists are some of the smartest people, which drew me to this field.
How do you connect with your patients?
I connect with my patients by actively listening and showing empathy, which builds trust. I treat each patient uniquely, tailoring my care to their individual needs and situations.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
Outside of the office I enjoy biking, running, hiking camping, and riding a quad/wave runner. I also enjoy volunteering in my community where needed.
What is your advice for your patients?
I believe everyone has their own definition of health. I encourage patients to take ownership of their personal healthcare by embracing what health means to them and actively participating in their wellbeing.
