She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. A proud Latina physician, she offers healthcare in both English and Spanish. Dr. Cruz is passionate about caring for our growing senior population and educating patients on healthy lifestyle changes. She joined Sage Health seeking a practice of like-minded physicians motivated to provide top-quality care while assisting patients in navigating our complicated healthcare system. Throughout her career, Dr. Cruz completed specialized training focused on caring for underserved patients and identifying social determinants of health. She worked closely with the Texas Familias Council to bring health education and empowerment to rural East Texas communities. Dr. Cruz has been recognized for her compassion in medicine and dedication to underserved populations. During her residency, Dr. Cruz spearheaded a diabetes education program where she taught patients the importance of following a healthy diet and personally cooked well-balanced meals for them. She hopes to use this experience to help her diabetic patients make healthy food choices.
