About Dr. Alexis Mikrut
Alexis Mikrut, DC, MS is a graduate of National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. She received her Master Degree in Functional Medicine and Human Nutrition from the University of Western States. Dr. Mikrut attended the University of Illinois where she received her a bachelor of science in Integrative Biology. Alexis started studying Functional Medicine while in chiropractic school by taking seminars focused on functional medicine and clinical nutrition and through her master’s degree program. Prior to joining the functional medicine team at Aligned Modern Health, she interned with AMH. Alexis’ practice focuses on improving health through the use of nutrition, lifestyle management and supplements. She enjoys managing an array of patient cases from autoimmunity to women’s health. She also enjoys helping those who are free of diagnosible ailments but wish to optimize their health.

Doctor Alexis is very straightforward, easy to understand, pleasant, and willing to answer any questions. I understand more about my issues, and am happy to have her continue to treat my current issues and anything else in the future. She also gives you multiple options when it comes to possible treatments making it convenient to fit your lifestyle. I also appreciate how she breaks down exactly what you’re taking in very simple terms.

Dr. Mikrut is one of the best doctors I have ever had. I highly recommend her to everyone I feel she could help, which is a lot of people! She has helped me tremendously with pre/post op from major back surgery, managing my rare disease, helping me come off hormonal birth control, getting rid of candida and other digestive issues, pain management, and SO much more!

Dr. Mikrut is very friendly and professional. She is genuinely concerned about your well being and will address any issues and answer any and all questions that you have. Dr. Mikrut explains your test results, had my previous lab results ready and discussed the next plan. I'm very happy with Dr. Mikrut.

Dr. Mikruit has been one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. She listened to my issues and probed deeper to really find the root causes to what I was dealing with. Expectations were to try to feel better through what my bloodwork was saying, which since I’ve started has gotten much better and I feel much better! In addition I appreciated the suggestions for other testing but was not forced into purchasing them. Everything was monitored closely and we found a path that worked really well for me. Since starting my treatment my issues have pretty much improved 100% and it amazed me that after years of dr appointments elsewhere, no one else was able to help in this way

Dr Mikrut is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable about all things holistic health and how the body functions as a whole. She isn’t judgmental in her recommendations and helps you understand the reasoning behind her findings/diagnoses. She is so thorough. Probably the only dr that’s truly asked AND actually been interested in my entire health history, including my bowel movements! I am so thankful I found her and truly believe she was instrumental in me finally being able to conceive and carry a child!

Dr. Mikrut is an excellent doctor! She's methodical and process-oriented. She brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge to the problem and applies it with great skill and precision. My digestive issues had been chronic and complicated for over 23 years. Dr. Mikrut is the only doctor who has been able to bring my digestive system back to normal function. That's quite a feat given that I'd seen many excellent doctors before her. She's that good, and she's also a kind and caring person. I recommend her highly!

Dr. Mikrut is a lifesaver. She was kind and gentle with my teenage daughter, and most importantly really listened to her in a way that no other doctor ever has. There was no quick prescription for a pill, instead it was a determination to get at the root cause of her medical issues and work with us to achieve optimal health naturally. I will forever be grateful that we were introduced to Dr. Mikrut and I can't recommend her highly enough.
