Dr. Alfred Alessi, DC, IHP is the founder, owner, and clinical director of Ascend Functional Health — Tampa's only practice offering a truly integrated approach to healing through Physical Medicine, Functional Medicine, and Longevity Medicine under one roof.
Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Alessi has spent over a decade on a singular mission: to help Tampa Bay residents uncover the root cause of their health problems and achieve permanent, measurable results — not just temporary symptom relief.
Dr. Alessi's journey into healthcare began in the fitness world, where he worked as a personal trainer and strength & conditioning specialist. That early hands-on experience with the human body sparked a lifelong passion for understanding health at its deepest level.
Driven by that passion, he pursued his Doctorate of Chiropractic and simultaneously earned multiple post-doctoral certifications — including advanced training in Functional Neurology, Myoneural Medicine, and Functional Nutrition.
