About Dr. Ali Ghomi
Dr. Ghomi is a Board-certified Urogynecologist and Robotic Surgeon practicing in Northern New Jersey. He graduated from George Washington University with a Doctor of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University at Buffalo. He has been at the forefront of minimally invasive and robotic surgery, pioneering numerous procedures in Western New York, including laparoscopic and robotic hysterectomy, laparoscopic prolapse repair, laparoscopic abdominal cerclage, and vaginal sling.
Dr. Ghomi was the first surgeon in Western New York to perform robotic gynecologic surgery for benign indications such as supracervical hysterectomy, myomectomy, and sacrocolpopexy. He developed Robotic Surgical Programs at Sisters of Charity and St. Joseph Hospitals in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and established the Robotic Gynecologic Program at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo in 2009. In 2013, Dr. Ghomi became one of the first surgeons in the country to receive board certification in pelvic reconstructive surgery, formerly known as urogynecology. He has a particular interest in applying robotics to treat endometriosis, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, and infertility surgery.
Among the most proficient robotic gynecologic surgeons nationally, Dr. Ghomi's annual surgical volume and performance metrics rank in the top 10% of robotic surgeons. He has successfully completed over 3,500 robotic surgeries, including more than 2,000 robotic hysterectomies. He is recognized as one of the top robotic surgeons in the U.S. and Northern New Jersey.
Dr. Ghomi currently serves as the Chief of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Medicine at St. Joseph University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, and sees patients at St. Joseph's Health, Totowa Health Campus. Previously, he was Chief of Robotic Surgery and Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Sisters of Charity Hospital, Catholic Health, Buffalo, NY, for more than ten years.

Amazing Doctor would highly recommend. He listened to my problems and had solutions. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I saw a previous doctor before who completely ignored me and told me you could not help me. It was refreshing to find someone who actually cares and who was very nice. His office staff was amazing also.

I brought my 80-something mom to see Doctor Ghomi a couple years ago and liked him so much that I switched to him from my previous urogynecoligist (who was a great doctor, but his office and administration were terrible and appointments were all but impossible to schedule).
