About Dr. Ali Mahmood
I am a board-certified Family Physician who completed my Residency in Family Medicine at Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. I also pursued a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, which provided me with advanced training to diagnose and treat various types of dementia. This additional expertise allows me to help reduce pill burdens for older patients who may be taking unnecessary medications. I recently opened a private practice in the Van Buren Township area. I believe in a partnered approach to care, where we make decisions together in a respectful and collaborative manner. Please note, I do not prescribe controlled substances via video visits.

The doctor was very nice he did listen, as soon as I walked in the door his first words were are you my 12:00 or so he was actually waiting on me. I wish you were a little bit closer to my place but I have seen three or four doctors in my area in the last 2-3 months and I would travel the 45 minutes again to see Dr Mohammad

Dr. Ali is fabulous. On my first visit he sent me off with EVERYTHING I needed to get my health back in order. Second visit was no different, I had questions he had answers and not just any answers he’d show you literally what you’re dealing with and how we’ll work together to get it better. Bedside manner excellent knowledge of his craft excellent and he even finds a way to Make you laugh in between. I love Dr Ali and have personally promoted him to anyone who needs a great pcp. Dr. Ali rocks.

As a new patient I had preconceived/reserved thoughts on how my first office/appointment would go. I’m glad I was completely wrong! From the time I walked in I was greeted and was immediately seen. No wait time no extra paperwork or unanswered questions! Dr Ali was professional he listened to my concerns and addressed them all 1 by 1. Dr. Mahmood was incredible from the start. We had a technical error in the beginning of our video chat and he handled it fast and with plenty of humor. He made it easy to start opening up about my illness and the problems associated with it. He handled heavy topics with kindness, understanding, and was very good at not letting things sit for too long. He made me feel seen and less alone. I'm very happy that I chose him to be my doctor.

Have not had a PCP in over 12 years.
Came in with a decent list of health issues i had been having, both physical and psych. Doctor Mahmood had me pouring out my soul within minutes of meeting him lol.
Very kind, very attentive makes you feel listened to and didnt brush off any of my concerns. Everything i mentioned or described to him was taken seriously and was addressed.
Sheila at the front desk is also wonderful. Many other people in her position(especially in hospitals) are so indifferent it borders rude.
Sheila gives off 100 percent mom vibes, so A++ to the whole practice.
If i could give 10 stars i would.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ali. He listened to my concerns and went over my options. As a larger person, I hadn’t visited the doctor in a while because I felt like they never listen to my concerns they just chalk it up to my weight and say if I lose weight I’ll feel better. Dr. Ali wasn’t like that. He was very understanding and empathetic. He went over all my options and requested a follow up. Felt like he actually cared. The staff was nice as well. Highly recommend Dr. Ali if you have issues trusting doctors or reservations about visiting one. He was very down to earth and wasn’t condescending like a lot of doctors I’ve dealt with in the past. Highly recommend.

I was a bit apprehensive given the size of operation, however, for my first visit it was not too shabby. I’m tempted not to write a good review because the office is a hidden gem. If you prefer a smaller office that provides personal care and attention then this is for you. Dr. Ali is cool and prioritizes his patient’s concerns and symptoms. Sheila is kind and helpful in every way possible. I scheduled an appt for an annual exam with minor health concerns and left with most of my concerns addressed. The ambiance is one of care and professionalism, and I look forward to another visit.

He was charismatic and listened to my concerns. He was lighthearted and made jokes, and then took things very seriously and asked deeper questions that I wouldn’t have expected to happen and appreciated the level of support. I feel that I was really heard in my medical concerns, and he provided me with the appropriate resolutions. I am happy to have found him and will return to him. This was after my first appointment and hope for continued quality care from him.

It's so difficult to find doctors that listen to your concerns and don't just talk over you or write you off, but Dr. Mahmood was fantastic and didn't do either of those things. I've only had one visit with him but already I am more happy with my care with this doctor than any other primary care physicians I've ever tried to get established with.
