Alice Kalu is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a culturally diverse background. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Belize and completed her Master's in Psychiatric Health Nursing at the University of Texas, Arlington. Alice uses an evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and client-centered approach in her treatment modules. She has experience treating patients of all ages with a range of mental health issues, including mood disorders, psychosis, dual diagnosis, OCD, sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, schizophrenia, substance use disorder, trauma, and PTSD.

Alice is passionate about what she does and wants to see everyone at their best. We work with you to create a treatment plan that best suits your needs, it's always a team effort. We are here to help.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Disclaimer: PLEASE NOTE THAT PATIENTS SEEKING HELP FOR ADHD OR CURRENTLY TAKING SCHEDULE II MEDICATIONS (FOR EXAMPLE: ADDERALL, RITALIN, VYVANSE) MUST BE SEEN IN PERSON AND SHOULD NOT SCHEDULE VIRTUAL VISITS.
After you schedule an appointment, the office team with reach out to you through a phone call or email within 24 hours. A short phone screen will be completed, and we will request your ID to verify your identity and create a client profile. We will email you new client paperwork which must be completed before the scheduled appointment.
The appointments will be canceled if the new client paperwork is not completed before the scheduled appointment time.
We will then conduct an initial assessment during the scheduled visit, and work with the client to create a treatment plan.

She's great in that she listens not only to your diagnosis, but to the difficulties you have in your day to day life. She qualifies the symptoms to conclude what would best help you. She's a good listener. I'm just so used to doctors saying you have X so you need Y without thinking carefully about symptoms unrelated to your diagnosis. She also won't push you to meet any special "therapeutic dose" if a lower dose works for you.

I have been seeing Alice for about a year and a half . She is so patient and caring . I have been many psychiatrist and she is the first one that I have actually felt like I could trust . Even on her days off if I am struggling she will text or call me to make sure I am okay. She is very trustworthy. She goes above and beyond to make sure your needs are met and that you start to feel better. I am so happy that I see Alice one a week I love forward to our appointments every week.
