What should a new client know about working with you?

Client-Centered Care: I believe that each client is unique, and therefore, I tailor my approach to meet the specific needs and preferences of each individual. This involves actively involving clients in the decision-making process and respecting their autonomy and choices. Holistic Perspective: Recognizing that mental health is interconnected with physical, emotional, and social well-being, I address all aspects of a client's life. This comprehensive view helps in identifying underlying factors contributing to mental health concerns and developing effective treatment plans. Evidence-Based Practices: I utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions, to address a wide range of mental health conditions. These approaches are tailored to each client’s needs, ensuring that the treatment is both effective and individualized. Strengths-Based Approach: I focus on clients' strengths and resilience, helping them build on their existing capabilities to overcome challenges. This approach fosters a sense of empowerment and self-efficacy, encouraging clients to actively participate in their healing process. Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding the profound impact trauma can have on mental health, I integrate trauma-informed principles into my practice. This involves creating a safe environment, fostering trust, and being sensitive to the effects of trauma on clients' lives. Integrative Medication Management: When appropriate, I provide medication management as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. This includes thorough assessments, ongoing monitoring, and education about medications to ensure clients are well-informed and comfortable with their treatment options.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the first visit, a thorough assessment is conducted, which includes a detailed medical and psychiatric history, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatments. - Based on the assessment, a preliminary diagnosis is made. The findings are discussed with the client, ensuring they understand their condition and the proposed treatment plan. - I work with the client to set realistic and achievable treatment goals. A personalized treatment plan is developed, which may include therapy, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and other interventions. - Regular therapy sessions are scheduled based on the client's needs. This can include various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or mindfulness-based approaches. - If medication is part of the treatment plan, the expected clinical response and potential side effects are explained to client. I then continue to monitor the client's response and any side effects. - Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor progress, review the effectiveness of the treatment plan, and make any necessary adjustments. - Continuous support is provided to client
