“Great experience all around from booking the appointment to follow up of the office to verify information on me. When I got to the office, the check in was easy and straightforward. The front office staff were friendly and efficent. The office is clean and the environment calm and quiet. The provider Alina Gerasymova, PA-C was a breath of fresh air. Very personable, friendly, professional, skilled and competent. She performed a minor procedure on me and was great with explaining everything beforehand, took time to answer all my questions and gave her sound, professional advice. Her medical assistant Allison was friendly and attentive. PA Gerasymova is an excellent clinician, has great skills in making patients comfortable and safe in her care. Glad my wife and I found her. She went out of her way to move my wife's appointment up to follow mine so we would not have to return for the later scheduled afternoon appointment for that day, which was great!! ”

About Alina Gerasymova
Alina Gerasymova is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in Dermatology. She graduated summa cum laude with a master’s degree in biology from Donetsk State University in Ukraine. Earlier in her professional life, she had careers in science education and advertising before moving to the United States in 2008. Alina earned her Physician Assistant certificate from Anne Arundel Community College and a Master of Health Science from the University of Maryland in 2017. Since November 2017, Alina has been dedicated to dermatology, performing full-body skin examinations, surgical procedures, and cosmetic treatments. She evaluates and manages a wide range of dermatologic conditions and has a particular interest in acne, rosacea, and hair loss. She is also a strong proponent of proactive screening and early detection of skin cancers. Alina is passionate about promoting healthy skin and believes that patient education and engagement are key to achieving better outcomes and improving adherence to treatment plans. Her goal is to provide exceptional care in a compassionate, welcoming environment where open dialogue and patient comfort are prioritized. Alina is a fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Alina Gerasymova, PA-C greeted my husband and I with a smile and shook our hands warmly. Very professional, knowledgeable, kind, patient, skilled and active listener. She communicated clearly and explained everything before she proceeded and took time to answer questions and concerns. She's very personable and put us at ease right away with her great bedside manners. I did not feel rushed and felt valued as a patient. She answered all our concerns and questions thoroughly. My appointment was 2 hours later than my husband's and she accommodated us by allowing me to follow with my appointment once she was done with my husband so we would not have to return 2 hours later. I did not ask for it, but it demonstrated her thoughtfulness towards us as her patients. She went above and beyond making that accommodation. We can see she loves what she does. She's just a wonderful person and we are pleased to have found her and will continue to seek her services and recommend her to others.

Shady Grove Dermatology was easy to locate. Parking was free and ample. The office was immaculate, the staff helpful and friendly, and the waiting area comfortable. PA-C Alina Gerasymova discussed everything that would occur during the office visit before starting her assessment. As the evaluation proceeded, she discussed the significance of what she found. At the end of the evaluation, she recapped her findings and gave me her recommendations in easily understood language. I look forward to my next appointment, and highly recommend her to anyone who requires dermatological evaluation.
