After graduation, she continued her training in a two-year residency program in primary care medicine. Her undergraduate education was completed at Chapman University with a BA in dance. Dr. Illo was a dancer for 18 years and then became a certified yoga teacher. She firmly believes in movement as medicine and enjoys working with patients to help cultivate a joyful practice of movement. Dr. Illo was born and raised in Oregon in a family dedicated to patient care—her father is a chiropractor. She shares a close bond with her twin sister, whom she loves dearly. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, Joe. Together, they share three beloved pets: Huckleberry, their Bernese Mountain Dog, and two cats, Oliver and Bentley. In June 2025, Dr. Illo and Joe welcomed their first baby, Clover, and they are completely in love with their little one!
