What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m Alison Griffin, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing care for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood concerns, and life transitions through a combination of evidence-based medication management and therapeutic support. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on the whole person. I believe meaningful psychiatric care requires time, thoughtful listening, and treatment plans tailored to each individual’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or your child, my goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care. At BeeWell, every decision begins with one question: does this create more focused, thoughtful, and meaningful care for the person being served

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At BeeWell, I take a collaborative, whole-person approach to psychiatric care. My goal is for every visit to feel purposeful — not rushed — and for you to leave with clarity about your treatment and confidence in your next steps. Your First Appointment We'll spend time getting to know each other. I'll ask about your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, medications, and what's been working (or hasn't). I want to understand not just your symptoms, but your life — your relationships, routines, stressors, and goals. This thorough intake helps me form an accurate diagnosis and a treatment plan that actually fits you. Ongoing Care Follow-up visits are structured but flexible. We'll review how you're feeling, discuss any medication effects or adjustments, and check in on the goals we set together. I integrate brief, evidence-based therapeutic techniques — drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing — directly into our medication management visits. This means you get more than a prescription; you get tools to use between appointments. My Approach I believe good psychiatric care requires trust, consistency, and communication. BeeWell is built around a patient-first model — smaller caseloads, clear care protocols, and a practice culture that supports communication between visits when it's needed. You won't feel like a number here. I work with patients across the lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults and older adults, and I take time to understand the unique circumstances each stage of life brings. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, or a new diagnosis, I'm here to partner with you — not just prescribe for you.
