“I came to see Dr. Kitay for severe pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel; as I had previously experienced a lot of medical neglect with orthos previously, I was very nervous about being listened to and treated appropriately. Not only did Dr. Kitay listen to me, she immediately addressed my issues, pointing out that what I was experiencing was not normal, and started in on a short term treatment plan while giving me a long term plan in case the immediate treatment didn’t work . I felt both heard and respected, and feel very happy that there’s a plan of action put in place to prevent further nerve damage. 100% recommend this doctor, especially for women.”

Dr. Alison Kitay is a hand and upper extremity specialist who joined Summit Orthopedics to be closer to her family after resigning her position as the Chief of Hand Surgery at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, where she also served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. A D.C. native, Dr. Kitay returned to the area bringing Harvard-trained expertise in complex hand, wrist, and elbow disorders. She graduated in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society from the NYU School of Medicine and magna cum laude from Amherst College, where she was also an All-American lacrosse player. In addition to her surgical skills, Dr. Kitay is known for her warm, caring approach with patients.
