I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) currently accepting new patients in my telehealth (video appointments) practice. I have more than 20 years of experience working in mental health, prescribing medication since 2017, and draw on both my social work and advanced nursing training to provide thoughtful medication management services. I am board certified to work with people across the lifespan and enjoy working with children (5 years old and up) and adults. People experience different difficulties when managing their mental health. Some of the things I can help with include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and sleep difficulties. In the past, I’ve worked in outpatient clinics, a hospital step-down unit, and an addiction recovery center. I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many backgrounds and in many circumstances, and I know that each person is valuable. I work together with my patients on improving wellness. I listen to their goals and provide options rather than just telling someone what to do. I address care in a holistic manner and integrate the use of therapeutic techniques, positive lifestyle changes, traditional psychiatric medications, supplements, and genetic testing as appropriate. Because many symptoms and illnesses affect both the mind and body, I believe in working collaboratively with your therapist and medical providers and may ask your permission to communicate with them.
