About Allison Tepper

Allison is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals through an overall lifestyle approach that is unique to each individual. Her belief in mindful eating and a non-diet approach led her to become certified in Intuitive Eating in 2013 to help clients create a healthier relationship with food and their bodies. In sessions she focuses not only on food, but other components of one’s life that might be impacting their goals including movement, body acceptance, stress management, mindfulness and more. She approaches her work from a Health At Every Size® perspective. Allison has extensive counseling experience working with clients with needs ranging from emotional eating, eating disorders, IBS, nutrition therapy for disease states and more. She began her career 12 years ago working at a Virginia-based counseling company, followed by working as the Dietitian at Georgetown University in their dining services program. In addition to her counseling work she serves as an adjunct instructor at American University in the Department of Health Studies. She also a board member of the Alexandria chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Practitioners (IAEDP) . Allison holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Syracuse University and completed her dietetic internship at the Pennsylvania State University. Allison also has her Masters degree in Health Promotion Management with a concentration in Health Communication from American University in Washington, DC. She completed her 200 Yoga Teacher Training at Easy Day Yoga in Ashburn, Virginia.
