I was born and raised in Delta, Alaska, and graduated from Montana Tech in Butte, Montana, with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. After several years, I moved back to Alaska and worked on a volunteer ambulance service, where I discovered my love for medicine and mentorship with a doctor who encouraged me to pursue medical school. I graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2007 with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and completed my Family Medicine Residency at Southern Colorado University in Pueblo, CO, in 2010. I worked in primary care until 2014, when I returned to Alaska. I love preventive care and helping people understand how the body works. I believe in educating patients so they have the tools to take care of themselves and live a life free of disease. I enjoy being part of a team that helps people manage chronic conditions successfully. Through careful listening, I strive to articulate the issue clearly, and together, we formulate a plan of care. I like helping patients navigate the often-confusing healthcare system to find solutions that work for them. I believe we are all individuals and need to be treated that way. I enjoy performing basic skin procedures, joint injections, DOT physicals, preventive medicine, treatment of chronic disease, and I also love acute care.
