What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I am passionate about delivering quality care and creating strong relationships with my patients. The satisfaction of helping a patient and hearing that you made a difference in his or her day is what is most rewarding about being a healthcare provider.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
I believe the primary care provider needs to be a good listener, director, and coach. Asking and directing the correct questions will help identify key symptoms and diagnoses. Then, providing the patient with medical suggestions based on standards of care and the utmost clinical research delivers the best medicine and service to address both physical and behavioral needs.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I have 11 years of experience in multiple specialties as a Physician Assistant and served 4 years as a US Army Medical Officer. I earned my Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University and hold a Bachelor's degree from Boise State University. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, art, strength training, running, and hiking.
