Alvaro R. Garcia, MD, attended Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico, earning his medical degree in 1984. He relocated to Stamford, Connecticut, where he completed his Family Medicine residency at St. Joseph Medical Center - New York University in 1990. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Garcia joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Family Medicine medical staff in January 2026 with more than 25 years of experience in primary care in Greater Houston. Dr. Garcia pursued medicine thanks to inspiration from his father, who encouraged him to always seek out knowledge. As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Garcia provides a broad spectrum of comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including preventive care such as well checks and immunizations, along with care for acute illness and injuries and management of chronic conditions like diabetes and heart disease.
