About Dr. Alysha Colon
Dr. Colon completed her undergraduate training at the University of Florida (UF) where she obtained a major in Biology and a minor in Health Disparities in Society. She went on to complete her medical school training at UF, graduating in the top quartile. She completed her Dermatology training at Howard University in Washington, DC where she had assignments at Howard University Hospital, DC VA Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and Children’s National Hospital. In her final year of residency, she served as chief resident.
Dr. Colon is a published author of several articles and textbooks in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She also started a free dermatology clinic at the University of Florida and is passionate about mentoring medical students.
Dr. Colon's bilingual skills allow her to offer compassionate, individualized care, addressing the unique needs of patients with various skin colors and types.
In cosmetic dermatology, she is skilled in BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), microneedling, Intense Pulse Light (IPL), and chemical peels. She prides herself on staying up to date on the latest treatments that help patients gain natural-appearing results at any age.

The wait was short, the doctor came in quickly and was very friendly. She also spoke Spanish and was able to translate. She knew immediately what to do and handled everything right then. We were in and out very quickly with every issue resolved.

When I walked into the space, it was clear that they're a very popular dermatology office. The sign in process was a bit slow, due simply to the amount of people in the space. Beyond that, I waited less than 15 minutes before being seen. The dermatologist assistant was kind, a great listener, and was very personable. The dermatologist made a determination and was able to explain the origin and treatment plan in a way I could understand. She answered all my questions and I left feeling very confident. My treatment was affordable and easy to maintain; I'm already seeing results! Looking forward to my follow-up.

Such a great experience! Everyone there was so nice. I had some rough visits with dermatologists in the past but I felt like they listened to all of my concerns and came up with a plan to help me reach the goals I want for my skin.

She was familiar with needs and how to approach skin conditions for people of color and of darker complexion and has extensive experience working with Black and Brown people. I had a great experience at Dr. Colon's office. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. The doctor was professional, thorough, and explained everything clearly, which really put me at ease. One thing that really stood out to me was how they went above and beyond to assist a patient who didn’t speak English fluently—they used translation tools and even had a staff member work with him one-on-one to make sure he understood everything and felt supported. It’s clear this office truly cares about their patients. Highly recommend!

It was a little difficult to find how to use the elevators in the building but once I figured it out it was okay. I got to the front desk and checked in. People at the front desk were nice and quick with checking me in. Then, after waiting about 10 minutes, a medical assistant proceeded to take me into the room to get checked by the Doctor. I didn't quite catch her name, but I didn't feel too comfortable with her, she didn't have an attitude, but she wasn't too friendly either, so that made me uncomfortable. Other than that, Dr. Colon came in, in a timely manner and diagnosed my skin condition and prescribed me what I needed. In conclusion, great doctor, and some of the staff is friendly.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Alysha Colon. She was incredibly thorough and took the time to address all of my concerns without making me feel rushed. Dr. Colon’s knowledge and expertise were evident, she quickly understood what was going on and explained everything clearly. I felt confident and well cared for throughout my visit. I’ve already scheduled my follow-up appointment and would absolutely recommend her to my friends and family!
